Super User South FLA Posted September 17, 2009 Super User Posted September 17, 2009 If my guest know what they are doing they can pretty much fish all my high end gear. Problem is that once they do the bait monkey jumps them. ;D If they are "tree catchers/backlashers" I usually let them fish with a Shimano Sonora reel on a Shimano Clarus rod. Quote
bassin is addicting Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 I hated having to maintain my gear as well as loaner gear...eventually got rid of the loaner stuff and let them use my stuff. Honestly who cares if it gets a little scratched up, it still catches fish. X2 Quote
tholmes Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 I keep a few yard sale spincast rigs around for the grandkids to go perch-jerkin' with. Other than that, any guest is welcome to use any of my equipment that they can handle. Not that I have any top-end gear or anything. It's just "stuff" anyway. If they break it, I'll have a legitimate excuse to go gear shopping. ;D Tom Quote
Fishing Doug Posted September 18, 2009 Posted September 18, 2009 I let them use mine. As long as they can handle a baitcaster, they are free to use what ever set up is not in my hands at the time. I want my guests to enjoy there time spent fishing, using my "good" stuff helps that. Same here. Me too. Too much trouble having a second set of gear sitting around that rarely gets used. Quote
