dan1942 Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Fedex Just dropped mine off 6'9" MH. Here are some pics paired up with my Core 51mg7. the Vendetta is def not a light as the cumara was paired with the same reel but hay its only 79.00! I figured I would check it out since it was so cheap Quote
Super User Micro Posted September 2, 2009 Super User Posted September 2, 2009 Nice looking rod. Quote
KingBass Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 Dang! What a great looking rod! matches that core PERFECTLY!!! ;D Make sure to let us know how it preforms! Quote
dan1942 Posted September 2, 2009 Author Posted September 2, 2009 We shall see how well it works. I recently switched some rods reels around. Alphas R_edition- paired up with my Cumara 6'8" M/F Pixy (Pixzilla) - with a Dobyns DX 702c Core 51mg7- Vendetta 6'9" MH/F and I needed something cheap to go with my Core until I have a little extra cash around so I grabbed the Vendetta. Next I need to find a frog rod for my Curado 201E7. Dan Quote
Super User Dan: Posted September 2, 2009 Super User Posted September 2, 2009 What exactly is a Pixzilla? Quote
Jake. Posted September 2, 2009 Posted September 2, 2009 What exactly is a Pixzilla? A Daiwa Pixy with these upgrades: ABEC 5 or 7 Spool Bearings Carbontex Drag TD-Z Line Guide and Worm Shaft Bearing Carbon Fiber Handle or TD-Z Handle Quote

Next I need to find a frog rod for my Curado 201E7. Dan Nice setups! Since you seem to like higher end gear, take a look at the BCR 875 GLX - amazing hollow body frog rod for heavy slop, or the BCR 855 GLX - fantastic "horny toad" type rod. The great thing about these two rods is they can both be used for big worms, jigs, football jigs, C-rigs, smaller single hook swimbaits, and pitching to name a few 8-) oh yeah, and they look GREAT with the new Curado E Series!! Quote
dan1942 Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 Thanks Bronzefly!!! I will check out those rods as well. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted September 3, 2009 Super User Posted September 3, 2009 anybody else notice this: I found it pretty funny... Quote
Koop Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 anybody else notice this:I found it pretty funny... lol yeah I saw that as well, it just showed up recently, wasn't there a few days ago. Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted September 3, 2009 Super User Posted September 3, 2009 There is also one of the vendetta rods, 7'MH I think, that says "My Rod" where the specs should be. Definitely a nice looking rod for the money, wonder how it performs. Just one ?, how many guides does it have? Quote
Super User skunked_again Posted September 3, 2009 Super User Posted September 3, 2009 im really skeptical of lower priced rods that look neat. i predict sales for this rod will be on fire out of the gate though. Quote
revoman Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 How well does the rod balance with the reel compared to the comura? Quote
Super User Dan: Posted September 3, 2009 Super User Posted September 3, 2009 Balance is one thing, sensitivity is another! ;D Quote
dan1942 Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 It's got 8 guides, with SiC inserts (I think). It cant compare to the cumara and core balance wise. The new core is just to light so it feels tip heavy with it. It will do for now hopefully works well on the water. But it definitely looks like a more expensive rod! Quote
dan1942 Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 Yeah I am sure it will feel nothing like the Cumara! But it will do for now until I get some money put aside for a custom rod from Matt at OtterRods. Quote

But it will do for now until I get some money put aside for a custom rod from Matt at OtterRods. Sounds like a good plan! That is, as long as you post pics of the new custom job whenever you get it...I've seen some of Matt's work and... Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted September 3, 2009 Super User Posted September 3, 2009 The vendetta and vengence rods are supposedly factory balanced for revos, I assume the sx by the colors of the vendetta. That's 2+ ounces on the core so it's gonna be a bit tip heavy but i'm sure it's fishable. I too am interested in the sensitivity, but that's all subjective. Many people say the mojo rods are sensitive, others not so much. Ofcourse it's not gonna be as sensitive as rod 2-3x the price but it's good to see this price range being explored. I think the big thing to worry about is durability. The guys at tackle tour have had some hands on experience and say the foam will indent with constant pressure over time. Quote
dan1942 Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 Yeah the EVA is not as nice as the Cumara, but it really is not bad either. there is a Labor day sale at TW and there also was a discount they sent to email subscribers recently so now you can pick up for around $59.00! I may grab a second if this works out ok. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted September 3, 2009 Super User Posted September 3, 2009 The labor day sale email said the discount was not applicable with other discounts Quote
