Use ONLY Stren Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 I was wondering if anybody had any expierience with it. Flats Class is one of my favorite shows on TV and they swear by the stuff. Any input would be appreciated. Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted August 31, 2009 Super User Posted August 31, 2009 extremely smooth and quite on guides.extremely limp and prone to windknots.the extreme softness of this line gives it the worst abrasion resistance of any braid i ever tried.my sugestion would be fireline braid.it's almost as smooth but has much more body and has far greater abrasion resistance. Use ONLY Stren Posted August 31, 2009 Author Posted August 31, 2009 How does the FireLine Braid work on spinning tackle cause it says in the description "made especially for use on baitcasters" dont quote me on that. and I have multiple reels that need line spinning and baitcasting. Quote
Super User David P Posted August 31, 2009 Super User Posted August 31, 2009 The Daiwa braid is amazing. I have tried everything, and it is hands down my favorite. It's expensive though, so I only have it tied on a few rods, but definitely like it more then any other braid. Give it a shot. If you're fishing rocks, use a leader, regardless of what braid you pick. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted August 31, 2009 Super User Posted August 31, 2009 Another plus for the Samurai is it's smaller diameter. The 30# is 6# mono diameter. Other superlines in 30# are 8# mono diameter. I use the 30# for finesse presentations and would recommend at least 40# for most other applications. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted August 31, 2009 Super User Posted August 31, 2009 I haven't used it because of the price tag but FWIW: I've never heard any bad reviews of it except for dodgeguy's post. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted August 31, 2009 Super User Posted August 31, 2009 As far as its abrasion resistance, they are the same. I use both alternating between worm sizes with the same presentation in the same locations. I use the Samurai for finesse worms and Fireline Braid for Trick worms when wacky rigging. Since the Samurai casts better, it works better for the lighter weight worms. The Fireline Braid is stiffer and a larger diameter so it is best suited for the heavier worms. Quote

DINK WHISPERER Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 FireLine braid is by far the best on the market now! Try it and you will never go back!!! Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted September 1, 2009 Super User Posted September 1, 2009 I've tried most an agree with Brokeju. Samurai braid is hands down the best. Use a leader.... Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted September 2, 2009 Super User Posted September 2, 2009 How does the FireLine Braid work on spinning tackle cause it says in the description "made especially for use on baitcasters" dont quote me on that. and I have multiple reels that need line spinning and baitcasting. works great!!! i use 20 pound on spinning.the reason they say for baitcasting is original fireline stinks on a baitcaster and was good on spinning. Super User dodgeguy Posted September 2, 2009 Super User Posted September 2, 2009 I've tried most an agree with Brokeju. Samurai braid is hands down the best. Use a leader.... i have no problem with fireline braid in rocks.but then again i fish 65 pound in rocks.i check the line often and retie if needed.imho the samurai is nowhere near the fireline in abrasion resistance.it is smoother and quieter.overall i like fireline better.others may like samurai better.they both blow away powerpro and sufix. I went and looked at some in the store and it was the braid that had the gummy coating on it. Not saying it's a bad thing, just thought it was peculiar. Quote
