I have a G Loomis SWBR904C (rated for swimbaits up to 3 ounces) and I currently have a Curado 100DSV on it. When I throw swimbaits in the 2 to 3 ounce range, this reel doesn't "feel" strong enough when casting and it feels like I am going to rip out the anti-reverse bearing when retrieving the lure (though, I'm sure I am just being paranoid). I have a Daiwa Zillion 100PA and a Abu Garcia Revo Winch that I could put on it and was wondering, before I strung them up with line, if anyone has any experience with either one of these reels for smaller swimbaits. They both fit nicely on the rod and feel comfortable to hold, so it only comes to performance and the reels ability to handle up to 3 ounce lures. Any experience reported would be appreciated. Thanks.

I do not own a Revo but I do have the Zillion and it would be a great reel IMO for this. A Curado 300 would work well too but I like the 4.9 to 1 gear ratio on the Zillion Crazy Cranker the best.

The winch would be a good choice.  I throw a 301 Curado D or a Cardiff 301 for baits of that size.

If the winch holds enough line, I would say it should be a good choice.

The Toro would be another reel to look at if you are partial to Garcia reels.

Thanks for the Responses so far guys. I was thinking about getting a little bigger reel (like a Curado 300 or Toro), but I like a lower ratio reel for this application (and I didn't want to spend the money for a new reel). I was hoping one of these two reels would be able to do the job. Thanks again.

I use a Revo winch for small to mid sized swimbaits. (up to 4-5 oz) Works great, is comfortable to palm and doesn't weigh a ton. If you already own one, it's a no-brainer.

IMO the winch would do good! But if you wanna get an other reel, I would defintily go with the Revo Toro Winch! (http://www.***.com/descpageRLCABUGAR-AGRTW.html) It's got a low gear ratio, and would be better than the Curado 300 IMO because of this. It also has a large line capacity, so you can keep plenty of 25 - 30 lb line on there and not worry about all you line going out when you cast.

You cannot go wrong with the Curado 300 for the Loomis 904 and 955 swimbaits rods.  I love throwing the small MS Slammers and 6" triple trout with that setup. My feeling is that you can never have too much line capacity when dealing with swimbaits.

I have the same rod with a Conquest 300 on it,no problems launching baits at all.
