Super User Dan: Posted August 31, 2009 Super User Posted August 31, 2009 spincasting or spinning? what is your price range? Quote
zbigbadaaron Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Isn't spin casting like a zebco 33? I would say a shimano sahara and st croix triumph would be good for this purpose. Just my 0.2 cents Quote
Matt Jungblut Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 i bought into the omega drama bought 1 it is for the wife i bought a really nice sub 200 dollar spinning reel for her to use since i own all 200 and up bait cast reels well with the spinning reel she is 20 feet on the shore or 20 from the shore wasn't working for her so i bought her the omega reel i used it today and i was not impressed but i shouldn't be because i use reels that are not even close to it but for her I'm sure it would work for anybody else that are starting out fishing cant get a better reel but for an experienced bait cast fisherman it would not do lol I'm sure this is no help so i would say if u want the best spin cast ever made then this is the reel u want Quote

The_Natural Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Lack of puncuation is down right painful! Anyway...the Zebco Omega boasts the most features of any spincast reel by far...it is the Steez of Spincasters. Other manufacturers don't really offer a 'high-end' spincaster. The Omega has twice as many bearings (6) as the second best offerings (Abu's Abu-Matic and Daiwa Silercrest), and features a solid aluminum frame and brass worm/drive gears. The soft touch line disengaging button is also nice. So essentially....the Omega is twice as expensive as the Abu-Matic or Daiwa Silvercrest, but arguably makes up for it with more features. Personally...I choose the Omega due to the fact it has a twin-knob 'regular' baitcasting handle....not a little one-knobber. If you want use this 'Woo Daves' style and bass fish....pair it with any casting rod. When Woo beat all the Pro's on the Mississippi river with his Zebco 404....it was greatness. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 31, 2009 Super User Posted August 31, 2009 Another vote for the Omega. 8-) Quote
