Crappiebasser Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 I am looking for a new finesse rod and have narrowed it down to either a AVS68MXF or a LTBS68MXF. The Legend does feel very slightly lighter than the Avid but is more sensitive? Is the difference worth the extra money or is it just paying for a flashy version of the Avid? Quote
Super User Dan: Posted August 27, 2009 Super User Posted August 27, 2009 Having owned both, I much preferred the LTB. I still think it was more sensitive and lighter than my current Cumara spinning rod. If you have the cash, definitely go with the LTB, if not, know that the Avid is a very good rod for the money. mike bat Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 i say the biggest difference in the rods is handle ... full cork or split ??? this is the question ... bloth blanks are close as far as feel ... i own bolth ltbs and avids ,, i like them the same ... they each have there place for my fishing Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted August 28, 2009 Super User Posted August 28, 2009 I have a 6'8"MXF Avid and a 6'9"MLXF Legend Tournament. Both with Revo STX's and #10 Trilene XL. It's very hard to compare the two being such different actions and powers. They are just too far apart to compare. Particularly since I use them for such different applications. The LT lists for 50-60 bucks more than the Avid. I'd be hard pressed to prove that the LT is worth 50 bucks more. Both are light, tough, sensitive, and very well constructed. You would be happy with either. the only complaint I have is the bright yellow graphics on the LT. As far as I'm concerned the rod is downright FUGLY. Quote

Super User Dan: Posted August 28, 2009 Super User Posted August 28, 2009 Are you serious?!?! I think it looks cool! Yeah, it's a little bright, but I like the color scheme and graphics. At least they're better than those hideous Mojos.... Quote
