HeadHunter13 Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 I don't have anywhere to get yozuri that is close. What is the next best option for 2000 & 2500 sized spools. Bought some CXX in 10# & 12# that I can use on baitcasters. Everyone says I'll hate it on spinning gear.I've been using Stren Mono, just looking for an upgrade with less stretch and more sensitivity. :-/ Quote
mrlitetackle Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 then go with braid. i use all spinning gear and made the switch to braid some time ago..... i'll never use mono again... no stretch, ultimate sensitivity.... personally, i like the suffix braid the best. Quote
Use ONLY Stren Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 Stren Sonic Braid 20# or Yo-Zuri Ultrasoft Quote
mrlitetackle Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 here, if you want the braid... heres a rebate for the suffix, its a pdf file. http://www.sufix.com/downloads/coupons/sufix_2009_coupon.pdf Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted August 22, 2009 Super User Posted August 22, 2009 Agree with the others, any superline is better than any nylon mono, co-polymer, or fluorocarbon on spinning gear. Quote
Stasher1 Posted August 22, 2009 Posted August 22, 2009 20# braid. x2 I've been using 20# PowerPro on my travel rod for the past couple weeks, and so far I like it alot. It's a little wiry at first, but that goes away after a couple trips. I like that I can leave it in the car/truck and not worry about the heat weakening it, it's extremely strong, and the lack of stretch helps make up for the St. Croix Triumph's lack of sensitivity, compared to my other rods anyway. Super User Hammer 4 Posted August 22, 2009 Super User Posted August 22, 2009 I dunno, been using yozuri hybrid ultrasoft on all my reels, 6 & 8 lb mist green on my spinning reels..w/o any issues. Headhunter, check your pm's. Quote
