I just picked up a brand new Revo S for 50 bucks pretty sick deal... I was just curious on what rod i could use for Pitching, And big topwaters like buzzbaits and super spooks. or if it would be a bad idea to do that. im new to this so please dont flame. just need some help.. thanks!

I would put the Revo S on a Powell 683c.  It is a solid all around general purpose rod.

Any MH rod in your price range. I would personally go with a 7'0 rod since you mentioned pitching. It would still be able to throw big buzzbaits and spooks well.

$75: Shimano Clarus

$100's: Shimano Compre, St. Croix Mojo, Falcon Bucoo

$150's: Powell, Shimano Crucial, St. Croix Avid, Falcon Cara.

Anything more than that and you open up a bigger can of worms. Everyone has their preference, but these are the names you will see thrown around here the most. Find a place and try a few out in store before making a purchase.

here's a very nice rod for the money, an look in the store they offer a few more.  I own 3 of their custom rods. I also own Loomis and St Croix rods as well but the GBlanks compare in every way.

Thanks alot for all the info guys! i really appreciate the help. I was looking into getting st. croix mojo.. a guy i know swears by st. croix so i was wondering if that mojo is a good rod? I just dont want to spend 100 on it and if it snaps because its not that great of quality, i dont want to have to buy another or put money into repair cost.

As far as my budget i dont think id go over 150. im thinking 100 thats how much those mojo's are rougly.

I have the 7' heavy action frog and slop St Croix Mojo and am very happy with it. I have the 6"8 spinning Mojo rod coming next week.

I believe the Mojo has a 5yr warranty. You can look on St. Croix's website for the details. If breakage/warranty is an issue then I would recommend a Shimano rod. Great warranty program! If you want to keep it around $100 then get a MH Compre. If you want to get the next best option then look at a Crucial. Forget about Shimano if you want a split grip rod. I would go with the Mojo or Powell based solely off of reviews and not personal experience.

If the rod snaps it is probably not because of low quality, but from user error. All of the above mentioned companies will stand behind their rods.

* Most of these rods can be found for 20-30% retail, in like new or new condition, if you look around online and in the flea market on here.

Powell Max 704C and never look back!!! Dont let the H rating scare you either! It is over rated really. It is more like a MH/F rod and a perfect all purpose imo.

Couldn't agree more.  I have a 705c and have fished the 704.  Compares really close to the Kistler Magnesium 7'Mag H
