So who makes the quietest braid?

I have a Carrot Stix Gold 6'10" MH, I like this rod for crankbaits.  I tried using 10 lb P-line on a Daiwa Sol but didn't like the stretch & the soft tip together.

I tried using Power Pro & Sufix 30/8 braid & those make some noise going through those TiCH guides.  So is Spiderwire Stealth or Fireline or what is not quite as noisey?

Well, it's sure not Suffix!   However, other than noise, I've been impressed with the Suffix otherwise, and the noise doesn't really bother me. As a matter of fact, it sounds pretty cool when a big fish is taking line.

I'm in the process of comparing the new Fireline Braid against the Suffix. No question that the Fireline is quieter, but the verdict is still out for me on which one is best when weighing all factors.

I agree if you want a quite braid  Daiwa Samurai braid is the best all around braid to me and its QUITE however.. if you want low stretch try some low stretch CO Poly line.. Braid is gonna cost you a noticeable amount of lost fish on Cranks... A little stretch when fishing lures with Trebles will help keep a lot of fish hooked up and in the boat that braid would have lost. To much stretch on cranks in a bad thing IMO too but a little is a must.

I crank with FC. It has a little stretch and the baits go a little deeper. You want some stretch to absorb the shock. You can use a short leader with the braided line, but its all going to make noise going through the guides. It should have a little less noise once the line breaks in.

most of the noise is from your reel levelwind.that said fireline braid is the best braid and quite.

Hate to be the naysayer -- but, I have a Carrot stick rod and recently spooled with Fireline Tracer braid (50 lb test) after using flurocarbon.  I couldn't take the noise of the line through the rod guides -- so, I changed it out after a week and went to the YoZuri hybrid.

tentimesover, if you had used Power Pro, Suffix, Sonic, or any other similar constructed braids, you would know that the Fireline Braid is very quiet in comparison. No superline is going to be as smooth as a single strand mono or fluorocarbon.

The quietest of the non-8 strand weave superlines is Stealth since it is coated and sort of has the voids filled in. That coating will dissipate with use though.
