UBA Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 Three reasons why I love the Zillion #1 It's way over priced. #2 It will only cast lures 3/8 oz. and above. #3 It weighs enough it can be used as an anchor if needed. Now if it only cured impotence. Quote
Super User Micro Posted August 16, 2009 Super User Posted August 16, 2009 And, It doesn't have its gearing set in plastic. It doesn't have paper thin gearing. It doesn't look like it got painted by some kid with a paintbrush and some green metallic model paint. It doesn't feel like a coffee gringer when you crank it. And it doesn't have a mile and a half of back play "designed into it." Quote
Super User Jeff H Posted August 16, 2009 Super User Posted August 16, 2009 Well, it's $100 cheaper!!!!! What'd you expect? : C'mon, even you have to admit it's a better value. Quote
UBA Posted August 16, 2009 Posted August 16, 2009 If the Curado cranks like a coffe grinder I'd hate to see what the Zillion compares to. As far as the gearing goes it's as thick as any of their other models which has been proven to be very durable. I guess for $90 more they could have added an aluminum side plate to the reel since the beefed up graphite side plate has contributed to many gear failures so far (NOT). The back play issue is such a problem that it's always costing me fish (NOT). I would have to agree the paint does suck but each to their own. Quote

sweet daddy Posted August 17, 2009 Posted August 17, 2009 I didn't want to pick one, but after the negativity for anything non shimano I have to. If you want a green six pin reel that costs at retail with tax over $200 bucks by all means get a new curado. I have nothing against shimano, but when I hear that a daiwa cant cast anything under 3/8 I call BS. Quote
