Tried the evolution jig?

I was wondering if some of you jig fisherman have noticed an increased number of hits with the evolution jig vs a 'regular' jig.  It looks really cool, but at $10 each I'm hesitant.   The submerged timber and laydowns in the waters I fish are ruthless.  Last trip I lost 4 jigs.

Are they worth it?

They are $10.00 for a 2 pack. Still pricey, but I hope they work as good as I have heard because I just ordered 10,  2 packs last week.

I got some for Xmas and all I can say is WOW. I really like these jigs, and they have produced for me already! Great jigs.

If you live by a Dick's check'em out. The Dick's by me has them for 7 dollars and when I got them a few months ago they were 25% off that. There still 7 as of three days ago, don't think they are selling many. I personally have yet to try mine, I can't put down the one's I always catch fish on.

Don't like em, I bought a pack and one of the jigs didnt stand up right, the other one was fine, but for the money I expect 100% performance.

I have fished the Evolution Jig and had no issues. The ones I have are perfectly built and perform flawlessly. If you have a problem, please send Bobby at MegaStike a PM or e-mail and I am sure he will send you a replacement, he might send you two!

No more hits, great stand up design though. but like you said easy to hang up. I think the brushguard is a little softer than your usuall jig. Could just be me though  :-?

The head is a great design. Some people say it could get in the way of the hook set, but I'm not sure about that. I do like the head.

The skirt alone keeps me from buying the jigs. The skirt has too little strands, and is rubber band tied which keeps the skirt bunched in some areas and completely empty in others.

The head is incredible, and a new design.

I bought 2 packs when they went on sale at BPS...I lost all 4 tossing into submerged timber.  I cried.  I did however catch 6 before they were all lost.  I blamed it on my inexperience with a jig setting the hook into the timber and such, I'll buy more (maybe) when I feel more experienced.

That is another thing, Brokejew is exactly right, they lack strands, even on mine, the whole left side of the jig has strands and the right side is strandless. I tryed repositioning the strands to "balance it out" but to no avail, it is still always lacking on one side or the other.

The Jigs that worked best for me so far are Booyahs, as they seem to have beautiful skirts and sharp hooks, 2nd being Terminator jigs as the skirts are also beautiful and again the hooks are sharp (I especially love their finesse jig). And Ive also done fairly well with Strikeking Bitsy Bugs, they aren't the best of quality, but the skirts are equal pretty much on all sides, and the weed guard isn't too thick its just right, they might not be top notch jigs, but they catch me fish, good to throw with no fear since they are so cheap.

I just bought some Tru-Tungsten jigs though which look beautiful, skirt is nice, hook is extremely sharp and the weedguard is nice too, maybe a little thick for my liking but nothing a trim can't handle. The only thing Ive noticed about them is there isn't a holder on the hook to hold the trailers in place, such as majority of jigs have, so I don't know how well there going to hold the trailers, just will have to wait and find out, but thats about the only flaw to them.
