I plan on showing why a poll like this is irrelevant.

stay tuned, first video of the yr will show countless fish, caught 1 after the other, changing color each time.  1 color-1 fish and change the color.

I could prove myself wrong but I'm convinced that much like a topwater, they are hitting the action and not the color.

STAY TUNED ;)

i voted pumpkin though i use watermelon almost as much.

ditto

though I am out of pumpkin which saddens me greatly

Fish see colors, best in midday clear sky conditions.

Once nightfall hits Bass do lose the ablity to see colors especially reds and blues...

The best color to use at night is Black, take a look outside with only a moon light helping your vision, what colors can you see.

3 simple options which generally catch bass (color wise)

*Trigger colors chartreuse other yellows and bright oranges

*Something with sparkles which mimics bait fish whites grays

*Greens/browns/reds which mimic craw fish/some pan fish

Try fishing a day where bass are inactive I bet, it will be specific color chooses that will catch you bass where others will leave you thinking that there is no bass in the area

I usually buy several colors and at times choose some colors over others depending on what lake I am fishing...

Quick story I was fishing a big res from shore...

I had bought 4in watermelon stick bait the night before and figured I would try it out

That morning I caught about 15 LMB in 2 hours in one spot (a steep drop off where weeds meet the drop off)

Then out of no where the fish stopped I tried several other colors and sizes

I took out a red/black kinami senko 5in (which usually works best on another local res)

After about 3 casts the fish turned back on for another hour I fished the same area and caught 6 more one being 5lb the biggest of the day

Colors do matter but, if you do not fish often/only fish small ponds and lakes I would never suggest going out and buying 12 different color stick baits

The best way to learn about what lures to use and when is to read a book or two maybe even a detailed video on Bass.

Colors are made for fisherman, not fish :)

We'll see...

Most of the time color may not be important, but sometimes it is critical. Sometimes it's not just the general color, but an exact shade or a specific accent. Color can come into play, even at night.

I have had days when they hit any color..

but I also have had days when a certain color works much better..

The color of the sky above you plays a big part to color selection..

darker shades seem to be best for me...

Blacks

Greens

Browns

I personally think color matters, especially when water clearity is involved. But, I also think the bait companies do get carried away. I think an Angler can use a few different colors and be fine.

I believe color factors in; however, it's not a primary attractant or trigger. In clear water, open structure, I prefer watermelon green w/blk flake. If the water is stained, heavily structured, I prefer pumpkin brown w/blk flake. Sometimes smallies prefer smoke or something sparkly; sometimes LM prefer black or dark solid colors. You have to go with what you have confidence in and what the locality dictates.
