nickw234 Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 I was thinking about picking some of this up an giving it a try has anyone else used this? Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 5, 2009 Super User Posted August 5, 2009 Well.... I didn't care for it too much. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted August 5, 2009 Super User Posted August 5, 2009 For as much as I like thier CXX, this line was an absolute and utter disappointment. Try something else, like Trilene 100% if you want straight fluoro, or YZ Hybrid for a fluoro coated line. Quote
nickw234 Posted August 5, 2009 Author Posted August 5, 2009 I fish with mostly plastics whats a better fit 100% fluoro or coated with fluoro. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 5, 2009 Super User Posted August 5, 2009 Yo-Zuri Hybrid is a BONDED, not coated fluorocarbon/nylon blend (copolymer). Give it a try and see if you like the line, it's not expensive. Spinning tackle: #6 (.010" diameter, 11.9 lb breaking strength) Baitcasting gear: #12 (.013" diameter, 19.5 lb breaking strength) I also suggest treating all line with KVD Line & Lure Conditioner. 8-) Quote
nickw234 Posted August 5, 2009 Author Posted August 5, 2009 Alright thanks I will give it a try and I use KVD conditioner and love it. Quote
Brian4618 Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 I bought some of this for my baitcaster and well... the only time i would ever use it again is for a small leader. After 2-3 cast on a baitcaster this line will look like a spring. I havent tried it on a spinning reel so im not sure about how well it would do, but id imagine it wouldnt do to much better. Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted August 5, 2009 Super User Posted August 5, 2009 I have 12lb on two rigs and haven't had much of a problem. I used kvd on one spool and it made it stiff after it dried for a few days. I know its not as strong as cxx but as far as manageability, abrasion resistance, and strength goes I am pleased. Quote
Super User Raul Posted August 5, 2009 Super User Posted August 5, 2009 I tried Floroclear, can 't say I was not satisfied but never fell in love with it, most probably will not purchase it again, but P_line CXX .... man that 's a whole 'nother story, hats off to it. It 's not a line I would recommend for everyone, but if you fish sharp rocks and/or them extra tuff mesquite trees, huizache brush or bullrushes like me I 'd say ---> what are you waiting for man ? Super User SirSnookalot Posted August 5, 2009 Super User Posted August 5, 2009 Floroclear works fine for what I use it for. Never a knot or strength issue. I use 20# on an Avet mxj Quote
bassmasterb007 Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 i like the p-line cxx but if you hook in to a bigin the line will turn into a spring, but i use a bait caster so twist does not really matter to me. Quote

I pretty much fish some sort of P-Line EXCEPT spinning reels, its too much of a hassle. For spinning reels I use Yo-Zuri Hybrid, I actually use 10-12lb but I have larger spinning reels (40 in Pflueger and 30 in Quantum, whatever that equates to shimano and daiwa). Quote
Big O Tires Angler Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 I've been using Floroclear for over a year now without any problems at all. It's a very very very manageable line and probably the most manageable I've ever used. Quote
Nkybassfisherman Posted August 7, 2009 Posted August 7, 2009 Well.... I didn't care for it too much. X2 X3 it casts well but i have had manyyyyyyyyyyyyyy problems with it breaking off and not at the knot it frays reallyyyy easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Quote
