Super User islandbass Posted August 1, 2009 Super User Posted August 1, 2009 I have technique specific rigs, but they handle a number of lures within a class. As far as making adjustments, once I have a reel "dialed in", it rarely gets any adjustment. 8-) That's because they're shimanos for sure, right?. Just set it and practically forget it. My sentiments precisely. 8-) Quote
FishDontLikeMe1301600221 Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Some of my rods pull double duty but for the most part they are technique specific. x2..i need to start weeding through the collection its getting a little out of hand ....god bless the baitmonkey. Quote

Incheon Basser Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 Mine are associated around line... I fish certain lines for certain situations... if the bait can be fished on this line then I'll switch it... how can you tie on a top-water plug to reel with Fluoro on it? Quote

The_Natural Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 I have 13 reels for every bait, and you can't fish unless you have at least that many. Seriously....don't make excuses....you NEED 13 reels per bait to even be considered a decent bass fishman. Quote
FishDontLikeMe1301600221 Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 u do know 13 is unlucky right....better jump up to 14 lol Quote

I.rar Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 i use spinning gear......no "dialing in" found here........ ....and love light tackle, so 1 or 2 setups do me just fine on every outing that i have!!!!! (one light, and one REALLY light).... and, yes, i even through large swimbaits on them..... call me crazy,,,,,, but its fun!!!! if you dont mind me asking , what do your two setups consist of? Quote
Super User grimlin Posted August 1, 2009 Super User Posted August 1, 2009 I notice it just on reels...so IMO.... I care more about the rod than i do of the reel. The rods define which type of fishing i plan to do.The reel doesn't. Light/finesse -spinning reel Everything else-Baitcaster reel I do have one reel that's 4:7.1 that's for crankbaits and only crankbaits.Everything else works both ways. You also want your reel to balance out....you don't want to put a big size spinning reel on a ultra light combo. It's going to be very unbalance and hard to fish with through out the day. Quote
Under the Radar Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 I do have one reel that's 4:7.1 that's for crankbaits and only crankbaits.Everything else works both ways. Hey Grimlin, did you mean 4.7:1 ratio on that reel? Just checkin' Quote

The_Natural Posted August 3, 2009 Posted August 3, 2009 I forgot to mention, that along with 13 reels per bait, you also need 45-50 Carrot sticks to be taken seriously as an angler. Otherwise...you aren't a threat. Quote
