Tanker4lyfe Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 well need to get a cranking rod. looking for one that will allow med-deep cranking and looking to spend around $150. I love shallow cranking but need to work on my mid-deep cranking alittle. Any suggestions Quote
KevO Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 Heard good things about the KVD cranking rods, but have never used one. They are about $150. I have a 7' MH crucial crankbait rod that I love its great for mid depth cranking. I just can't the casting distance with it I need for deep cranking. So, I'm waiting for the shimano cumara 7'11 cranking rod to come out. It looks awesome but its a little more than you are looking to spend. BTW the crucial is also around $150. Quote
Incheon Basser Posted July 30, 2009 Posted July 30, 2009 these rods got pretty good reviews in Tackle tours year of the crank... http://www.***.com/descpageCRODDAM-DDAC.html# Quote

Super User burleytog Posted July 30, 2009 Super User Posted July 30, 2009 Quantum Tour KVD TKVD745M 7'4 MH 3/8-1 oz. or Kistler Argon AFCB72C 7'2 MH 1/8-3/4 oz. Quote
Bull Hurley Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Daiwa Mike Iaconelli Signature series MI781MRB 7'8" M 1/4-3/4 oz. $130 and worth every penny, pulled many fish ranging from 1 lb to 12 lbs with ease. Have it matched with a Zillion Crazy Cranker. I will put it up against any $200 rod on the market. It is based off the Steez rods, not the same components but the same overall design. Quote
aarogb Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 Quantum Tour KVD TKVD745M 7'4 MH 3/8-1 oz.or Kistler Argon AFCB72C 7'2 MH 1/8-3/4 oz. x2. I have this exact rod for meduim to deep crankbaits. Though real deep divers would be best with the 7'10" rod, the 7'4 is perfect for meduim crankbaits. Quote
Rand Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 I was just getting ready to start an identical post. Keep it coming guys. More ideas the better. Rand Quote

BMoore Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 shimano crucial 7'11" cranking stick. right price. right rod. look into the powells as well. Quote
sweet daddy Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 If you want to go under eight feet I would suggest a glass rod, there are many out there so I wont single one out. Quote
westpalmfrogpunk Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 I own the a KVD 7 10 and use it for all depth cracks that it can handle and its a solid rod. I have no regretts about it. Slow enough to keep a fish buttoned up but enough power to handle a big fish keep him moving towards the boat. It allows really good casting distance and has great feel of the bait. I plan on adding a 7 foot model for medium cranks. Its defiently a rod I would like to have the entire arsenal of for cranks of all types. Quote
