BMoore Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 I'm thinking of picking up an 09 energy pt to try out. Anybody here using one? How do you like it? I've been messing around with it in bps but I can't make myself buy it. Somebody push me over the edge. Quote
kikstand454 Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 *shrug* i like the old ones! hahaha i dont have a new one yet and truthfully wont be getting one cuz i sure dont need a new reel. i know that the difference between my blue TE is night and day with the new model. i would expect that the new enrgy is the same. lighter and tighter from what i understand. Willzx225 Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 I have the 6.3 and 5.1 and really like them. I believe I actually like them more than my REVO STX's. They are not as finicky as the REVO's and are solid feeling reels. I'd recommend it especially since they cut the weights down to under 8oz. Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted July 27, 2009 Super User Posted July 27, 2009 I have a burner model of the new energy and really think quantum leveled the playing field over last years models. The new ones are tighter, smoother, and lighter. The only thing that gets me is the ACS II system, I know it's a cetrifugal system, but 4 positions is a little hard to get over after the infinite acs of the older models. Overall, get it, it's worth it. Quote
Furbit Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 I have several of the 08 models and a few 09 models. Have not had one problem with any of them. Great reels IMO. Quote
BMoore Posted July 28, 2009 Author Posted July 28, 2009 Thanks guys. Do they feel as smooth spooled up as they do in the stores empty? How is the adjustability of the brakes compared to shimano? Is it set it and forget it? Quote
bpNClgmouth Posted July 28, 2009 Posted July 28, 2009 Great reels in my opinion. The burner models I use feel just as smooth as in the store, and thats with braid.... Quote
