i am fishing small mouth and large mouth bass and was wondering whats a good reel to use.i have a pfluger president but not sure if its just me but seems like i have to reel it pretty fast compared to the guys i am fishing with.i mostly use tubes, senko's,buzzbaits, flukes etc.....i love my pflueger but bought it for trout fishing so wanting to get a bass reel.any help would be great and i am looking for a spinning reel

the pflueger president is a 6.3.1 ratio reel. It is fine for a multi purpose bass reel. Your friends may be using 7.x.1 ratio reels.

6.3 is a fine and dandy ratio for bass fishing. if you like that reel.... you should just get another. going up a gear to a 7 is great for burning things.... but u lose torque. if you throw alot of bigger lures or i should say lures with alot of water resistance... like large bladed spinners and deep diving cranks..... a 7.1 is going to make you want to gnaw your arm off.

6.3 is a good middle ground imo
