Craiger12 Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 How much are you looking to spend and what type of line will you be using? Quote
Koop Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 the pflueger president is a 6.3.1 ratio reel. It is fine for a multi purpose bass reel. Your friends may be using 7.x.1 ratio reels. Quote
kikstand454 Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 6.3 is a fine and dandy ratio for bass fishing. if you like that reel.... you should just get another. going up a gear to a 7 is great for burning things.... but u lose torque. if you throw alot of bigger lures or i should say lures with alot of water resistance... like large bladed spinners and deep diving cranks..... a 7.1 is going to make you want to gnaw your arm off. 6.3 is a good middle ground imo Quote
BenoBreath Posted July 25, 2009 Posted July 25, 2009 Shimano Sahara 2000 or 3000 model. Good line capacity, light weight, 6.2:1 ratio. Won't break the bank ! ***.com GOOD LUCK ! BB Quote
