FishDontLikeMe1301600221 Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 saw this on tt and i like it alot, pretty sweet looking the Aggrest mid. price of only $180. said to be available in weeks after icast, cant wait ima get me some!!! Aggrest will be available in both right ad left hand retrieves and the reel weighs in at 7.6oz. with a line capacity of 12/150, 14/125 Creating the speed is a massive, helical cut drive gear pushing a phosphor bronze pinion gear at a 7.3 to 1 ratio. The helical cut of the gear teeth (cut at an angle) are designed to deliver smooth winding and even transmission of winding energy. To ensure adequate winding power, six ball bearings firmly support the drive train within a rigid aluminum frame. Quote
Quitlimpin Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 That is a beautiful reel. Wish I could say the same for the new Revo's Quote
FishDontLikeMe1301600221 Posted July 16, 2009 Author Posted July 16, 2009 yea saw those also and the revo went from sexy to they are HUGE/FAT in the front makes it look all goofy.ill pass on them this year. Quote
Super User islandbass Posted July 16, 2009 Super User Posted July 16, 2009 Woh. Is anyone else infatuated? Wallet's starting to itch. Quote
Lucky Craft Man Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 It looks ok, but it is no replacement for the Fuego or SOL. I am a big Daiwa fan and was hoping to get a little more from them this year. Quote
Super User flechero Posted July 16, 2009 Super User Posted July 16, 2009 I was also hoping for something better... 7.6oz. with a line capacity of 12/150, 14/125 It's kind of like a silver curado. :-/ Quote
FishDontLikeMe1301600221 Posted July 16, 2009 Author Posted July 16, 2009 same price as curado to,i love both shimano and daiwa but guess daiwa saw shimanos huge success in the new curado and made something for the daiwa ppl to go against the curado with.but for the daiwa fans that reel would look even more amazing with a little ITO tune up (new handle, drag star and grips) wouldnt doubt if a ITO jdm version will be in the makes some time soon.7.3 though thats crazy fast your lure would be back to you b4 your even ready for it.whats next? Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted July 16, 2009 Super User Posted July 16, 2009 Looks nice but puts me in mind of a new Exceler, definitely didn't expect that price from just the pictures. I don't like the aggrest on it like that but other than that I would give it a shot Quote
Super User Dan: Posted July 16, 2009 Super User Posted July 16, 2009 It looks ok, but it is no replacement for the Fuego or SOL. I am a big Daiwa fan and was hoping to get a little more from them this year. yeah, I was expecting some new stuff to replace the recently discontinued reels. Quote

MarauderYak Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 It looks ok, but it is no replacement for the Fuego or SOL. I am a big Daiwa fan and was hoping to get a little more from them this year. yeah, I was expecting some new stuff to replace the recently discontinued reels. Daiwa had too many reels priced too close together this year. Sol $249, Fuego $249, Zillion $269, Zillion Aniv. $299. Makes it awefully tough for them to sell enough of any one model when they're only going to sell so many reels between $250 & $300. Quote
fishntime Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 Now that daiwa reel is strictly saltwater? Either way its a sick looking reel. Ive got the sol, fuego, zillion and soon will have the new model by daiwa. Also that Revo SX looks really nice, and lastley Abu s new Vendetta fishing rods look really nice also. Quote
Super User Micro Posted July 16, 2009 Super User Posted July 16, 2009 It looks ok, but it is no replacement for the Fuego or SOL. I am a big Daiwa fan and was hoping to get a little more from them this year. yeah, I was expecting some new stuff to replace the recently discontinued reels. It doesn't look like the Sol is going anywhere, at least not yet. It's still listed on Daiwa's newly updated website. So is the Viento. The Fuego is gone. Quote

Super User Micro Posted July 16, 2009 Super User Posted July 16, 2009 Looks like the Fuego is gone. But the Viento is still listed. The Anniversary Zillion is gone, but there is a new 7.3:1 Inshore Zillion. http://www.daiwa.com/Reel/baitcasting.aspx Quote
Super User Dan: Posted July 17, 2009 Super User Posted July 17, 2009 hmmm, I could have sworn I heard the Viento was on the canceled list. Still, I would have liked to see some more stuff from Daiwa. Quote
Super User Micro Posted July 17, 2009 Super User Posted July 17, 2009 BPS has the Viento on clearance. They told me it was "discontinued." Quote
coryjames Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 the new steez frog rod is pretty cool.i cant wait to see that.probably be awhile before it makes it to all of us :'( Quote
ChiCityBasser Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 BPS has the Viento on clearance. They told me it was "discontinued." I see the Sol, Fuego and Zillion are on clearance on their site but not the Viento, at least not yet. Quote
