bassn88 Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 Hello everyone, I am in the market for a good soft plastics and jig rod. I've been looking at the Damikii Dark Angel in 7'0" MH and the 6'10" Kistler MH Football Head Rod. Has anyone used either of those? Any other recommendations in the $150 price range? I'm looking for it to be lightweight and sensitive. Thanks Quote

Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted July 13, 2009 Super User Posted July 13, 2009 I have a 7'M Dark Angel spinning rod that is pretty much my workhorse...no matter what plan to do, it gets used on every outing. I use it for shakey heads, weightless plastics, drop-shot, jerkbaits, and finesse spinnerbaits. I am really considering getting a few casting rods as well. They have an extra fast action that is really nice with a smooth but quick transition into backbone. I also have a 7'h and 7'mh kistler magnesium. Nice rods as well. Both would be good choices. I would also suggest the Powell max rods. If at all possible, get your hands on them before buying. Quote
Bassaholic84 Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 I have a powell max and just bought a carrot stick. They are both excellent rods. I have only fished the carrot twice now, but man i love the way that rod feels and the sensitivity of it. It now has me comtemplating selling/trading my powell for another carrot. Quote
bassn88 Posted July 13, 2009 Author Posted July 13, 2009 Thanks for all of the replies, I tried out a Dark Angel today and really liked it. Hopefully I can get my hands on some others before I make a final decision. Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted July 13, 2009 Posted July 13, 2009 For plastics and jigs rod under $150, the Powell Max 705C can't be beat IMO. Extremely light and sensitive, also, very powerful! Quote
