snapshotmd Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 If you could possibly get a pic that was in focus??? : that would probably help... Quote
Super User J Francho Posted July 6, 2009 Super User Posted July 6, 2009 Not sure exactly which one you have. The two schematics for recent Cardinal 101 reels aren't showing a badge on the rotor cover. I'm thinking there's a screw behind that badge. If you cannot get it off, use Reel Scrubber (wear safety glasses and chemical gloves in well ventilated area) and blow all the old grease out. Replace with good grease and you should be fine. Here's the one exploded diagrams I found on Abu's site: http://www.abugarcia.com/product_schematic.php?search=Cardinal&id=&search_submit=Search+%3E%3E# See the "C100 Series" on this page: http://www.abugarcia.com/product_schematic.php?search=Cardinal&id=&search_submit=Search+%3E%3E# For grease, oil, and Reel Scrubber, use the Reel Mechanic: http://www.***/main-b.html Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted July 6, 2009 Super User Posted July 6, 2009 I have that reel and I do not think there is anything under that logo, I may be wrong. I'ts a great little reel but personally I would just toss it and buy a new one, it's only about $35. I put reels like that in the category of disposables. Quote
Super User .RM. Posted July 6, 2009 Super User Posted July 6, 2009 From looking at the pic, and the schematic's if there is a screw there for that cover, you will have to probably remove the logo to find it. Don't know why your worrying about a ul reel, the bails aren't that strong to begin with and Garcia® uses a perma lube on areas that are sealed, like the bail spring area your looking at.. Put it back together and don't worry about it, take it fishing (or they must not be biting) and wear it out.... Tight Lines!!! Quote
newfish Posted July 9, 2009 Author Posted July 9, 2009 thanks for all the replies and advises, it was very helpful. i know its not ranked up there with the high priced reels, but i like it. besides it's caught lots of fishes for me and i also like to keep my gears running well and maintain. thanks again for the help ;D Quote
