MarauderYak Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 Its not that hard to get in but you still cant buy stuff. You need to get a pass. If any of you guys are tight with your local tackle shop you might be able to get a pass as a buyer through them. Or if any of you are sponsored you can ask your sponsor for a pass. The show itself is big and its pretty cool with a lot of new stuff and all the pros are there walking around and talking with people. The one thing I didnt like was some of the products that won awards were realy bad. Like the rocket pole and those rock weights. Lot of big meatings going on and lots of moey being made. I'm still Bummed I didnt get to meet Glenn and Big O last year. I am not going to this one because its in FL. Vegas is too much fun so I have to go when its there, problem is I alway gain 5-10lbs when I go to Vegas. MAN THAT BUFFET AT THE RIO!!!!!! The "Best of Show" awards at ICAST are all about who runs the best campain, NOT what the best product is. Who ever hands out the best spiffs & beggs for the most votes is going to win (for the most part). An actual rock as a sinker won last year... 'nuf said. Quote
bmadd Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Like mentioned earlier, I'm very excited to see the new additions to the cumara lineup, especially the reaction lineup Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted June 16, 2009 Super User Posted June 16, 2009 The LEI Structure Scan add-on for the HDS units is supposed to be "officially introduced" at ICAST. Quote

If you think the buffet at the RIO is good, YOU HAVE TO TRY THE BUFFET AT THE BELLAGIO next time. I personally feel its way better. their lamb chops is so good its not even funny. Quote
MarauderYak Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 The hot place to eat for this year's attendees will likely by Charley's Steakhouse. But I don't think you'll see quite the same attendance as you see in LV. Quote
vatech Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 You guys do realize that Icast is not open to the public right? Plus none of the vendors are selling at the show. Icast is for buys and sellers to make and take orders and to show off their new products. And for the press like Glenn to report to the public what they saw at the show. Most of the products showcased at Icast arent availible for sale untill a few months after the show. I'm new to fishing and wonder what normally happens to current model reel/rod prices after ICAST? If I was planning a purchase, would it be smart to wait until after ICAST and see if the price drops? Quote

MarauderYak Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 Typically some models of rods/reels that aren't going forward will start to drop in price after ICAST. But that's only if the new models will be available shortly there after. However both BPS & Cabellas have already dropped the price on the Stradic Mg (it's being replaced). Quote
ToledoEF Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 I see zoom has a new color called key lime pie and it looks nice, they will probally sell a lot of them! Quote

Super User South FLA Posted July 2, 2009 Super User Posted July 2, 2009 I am going to Icast as wholesale buyer, certain exhibitors take pre orders, but retail sales are prohibited. What really is a bummer is that photography and videography are prohibited on the show floor, so I can't share any pics here on the board, maybe someone here has a press pass that allows for that.
