FishDontLikeMe1301600221 Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 if this reel is at ICAST then im jumping on it A.S.A.P http://www.lineburner.com/Frame-1-page1namepage1.htm?refresh=1164380017781 ;D Quote
The_Natural Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Mg50 will be released at ICAST...google Shimano Aldebaran for pics (it's jdm cousin. Daiwa is rumored to be releasing a new Daiwa Fuego casting reel made of the new Zaion material. Should be super light weight....this is the one I'm watching. Quote
The_Natural Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Shimano is also said to be releasing a new high-end rod....placed on notch above the Cumara line. Quote
uicdent11 Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 I'd love to see a Chronarch LH crankin reel. As for the Aldebaran, wouldn't this run in direct competition with the Core? Quote
The_Natural Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 No...the Core is the Chronarch 100mg. They just put a cooler name on it. The Mg50/Aldebaran is a smaller reel. So instead of the Chronarch 100mg and Chronarch 50mg we had a year or so ago....we will have the Core and Mg50. Quote
uicdent11 Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Gotcha. I never knew we had a 100mg; that answers my question. So the Chronarch line will look something like this? 50: Aldebaran, only with an American name that starts with C. 100: Core 200: Chronarch D Correct me if I am wrong Natural. Quote
FishDontLikeMe1301600221 Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 been reading around that daiwa might be putting a Zillion Mg out....something to compete with the new Mg50/Aldebaran at the $350 price point...hmmmmm :-X Quote

More like: 50- Domestic Aldebaran 100- Chronarch D 100Mg- Core I also heard something about some new crankin' Cumaras. Quote
Super User Gone_Phishin Posted June 14, 2009 Super User Posted June 14, 2009 Has anyone heard anything else????? Quote
stryk9 Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 if this reel is at ICAST then im jumping on it A.S.A.Phttp://www.lineburner.com/Frame-1-page1namepage1.htm?refresh=1164380017781 ;D looks like an easter egg ;D Quote

Mattlures Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 You guys do realize that Icast is not open to the public right? Plus none of the vendors are selling at the show. Icast is for buys and sellers to make and take orders and to show off their new products. And for the press like Glenn to report to the public what they saw at the show. Most of the products showcased at Icast arent availible for sale untill a few months after the show. Quote
Big O Tires Angler Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 when did quantum get a hold of garcia? lol That's actually Ryobi's original concept... Quote

Yep, that's the truth. I already know of a few baits that will be introduced at ICAST, but I've been sworn to secrecy on them. Sorry. I've been trying a few of them already, and I can tell you there's some real winners coming. That said, I will be posting about them as soon as the embargo is lifted (most likely at ICAST). Quote

Mattlures Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 Its not that hard to get in but you still cant buy stuff. You need to get a pass. If any of you guys are tight with your local tackle shop you might be able to get a pass as a buyer through them. Or if any of you are sponsored you can ask your sponsor for a pass. The show itself is big and its pretty cool with a lot of new stuff and all the pros are there walking around and talking with people. The one thing I didnt like was some of the products that won awards were realy bad. Like the rocket pole and those rock weights. Lot of big meatings going on and lots of moey being made. I'm still Bummed I didnt get to meet Glenn and Big O last year. I am not going to this one because its in FL. Vegas is too much fun so I have to go when its there, problem is I alway gain 5-10lbs when I go to Vegas. MAN THAT BUFFET AT THE RIO!!!!!! Quote
sweet daddy Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 I hope strike king rolls out a knocker red eye in rayburn red, and tillapia. As for new reels mine still work just fine. Quote
Will B. Posted June 15, 2009 Posted June 15, 2009 I saw some release on a some new lines.... hi-seas Quattro Fluorocarbon line, a 4 color camoflagued fluoro. I've used both their fluorocarbon, and the original Quattro line when I go out in saltwater (this line is all over NJ for offshore stuff). It looks really interesting! Berkely is putting out a line like the Vanish transition too...transoptic or something. It looks like the same thing as the vanish, only in a Trilene version. I'd really like to see Shimano and Daiwa put out some of these japanese versions. I was lucky enough to go to Australia last summer, and there are some CRAZY reels there, but we will never see these in the US. Quote
