Koop Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 Looking to purchase a good mid priced mainly flip/pitch jigging set up. Any help is appreciated. read a few articles so I know basically what I need just looking to be pointed in a more specific direction. Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 It all depends on how tall you are, exact price range and the cover you are fishing. A good set-up i can recommend is a Powell 705C and a Revo S. The rod is $139 and the reel can be had new on Ebay for around $90. I now use a Falcon Cara T7 Amistad(7' 3") rod and a Revo STX for those techniques. The Cara rod is $155(for me) and the Revo is about $160 on Ebay new. The possibilities are endless really! Quote

This set up has done me right for quite some time. Big O www.ragetail.com Quote

LAO162 Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 With the current specials on the Cabela's XML rods you could try the technique specific or a general purpose 6'6" or 7'0" MH rod and put more $$ into the reel selection. Once you know what you like, or don't like, in the XML configuration, maybe next year you can upgrade to something that is closer to meeting your specific needs. Quote
