Will I haven't fish in over 35 years and starting over with my 10 year old.

I just bought him a Zebco 33 Combo Rod and Reel and planing on ordering a Zebco Delta Combo Rod and Reel for myself.  We cought our first 14in Large Mouth Bass with a rubber worm with my son's reel, it cast's real nice and smooth hopefully the Delta will be better?  Maybe some day I will move up to a bait cast reel.

The Zebco will be fine for the boy, but you can do better. Give us your budget and we'll try to keep the "but if you spend an extra $50 you can have this" wolves at bay ;D

Will I been out off work on WorkMan's Comp. for all most a year now So I didn't have a lot of money to spend ,  But I did find the Zebco Delta Combo for $33.95 Witch I thought was a pretty good deal to get started on.  I have been looking at the Bait Cast but find them to be expensive right now.  But did find a beginners package Bait Cast Reel & Rod with some tackle gear at a Dick's Sport Store around my price range and did happen to see a real nice Quantum Rod & Reel Combo for $119. my hands did start to shake a little when I hold it.

Well, I'm a spinning reel guy myself, but I don't think baitcast is the way to go for you. Not because I don't like them, but they can be frustrating to learn on. You can get a decent spinning combo at Dick's for well under $100. Dick's always has a sale going on, also $10 off $50 purchase coupons pop up occasionally. Maybe someone can post a link for the coupon, I've never had any luck finding it online.

Beware the reel seat on these reels will break under the pressure of a decent bass ;)

I went with the Zebco Delta Combo to start with for $41. .

Maybe next tax time I will get a good bait cast combo.  I've use the open face reels growing up but always wanted to get my hands on a bait cast.

I Have the pinnacle platinum pro 40$ and pinnacle solene 50$ from wallmart. Both I found to be decent baitcasters for beginners. Havn't had a problem yet and find them really smooth and nice to cast. You could easily pair one of these with a cheapy rod to start off for about 80$ or so. Then upgrade the rod to a nicer one and then get a nicer real later on which I plan on doing.

Will today I got to test the Zebco 33 Combo Rod and Reel to see if it would handle a big fish , I cought a 6lb Big Mouth Bass with a 6in tan rubber worm with a 10lb line   ;)  ;D

on a cloudy afternoon before the rain came in ,  It gave a good fight

and the Zebco handle nicely !!

zebcos rule for "ping" shot fishing!!!!! ;D go position yerself near a dock or over hanging trees push the zebco thumb release and grab yer line till your rod arcs and "ping" shoot your bait under the dock/overhangs...i still do this with the kids poles at the subdivision pond lmao reminds me of being 10 again.
