Super User Micro Posted May 30, 2009 Super User Posted May 30, 2009 I've never owned a Falcon. I've heard good things about them though. I started perusing their site and see that they've changed the look of a couple of models (Expert, Cara), and added a new model - to compete with the Mojo, no doubt. May have to start giving this brand a try. New model... Bucoo Their "Trade Up" program seems pretty cool. Seems like a nice deal for some folks that already have some older, aging rods they are looking to replace... Trade Up Program Quote
Super User Dan: Posted May 30, 2009 Super User Posted May 30, 2009 those new experts look awesome. Quote
aarogb Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 I've been on the edge of pulling the trigger on a LowRider Falcon rod. I might just have to now, because all of the stuff I have heard about Falcon rods has been good. Quote
MN Bass Man Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 That Bucoo is one sexy rod. I've got two Falcons, a Cara and a Lowrider, and I really like them both, especially the Cara. Very sensitive. Quote
Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted May 31, 2009 Super User Posted May 31, 2009 that rod is sweet!! , i love split EVA grips ( i have a Carrotstick) . the swimbait rod im having made is designed after the Cara split- grip stick , but with EVA grips and Fuji ACS reel seat Quote
bass wrangler569 Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 That Bucco is one wicked looking stick. And if you're saying its around the price point of a mojo, I think its going to give it some pretty stiff competition. Quote
fivesixone Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 That Bucco is one wicked looking stick. And if you're saying its around the price point of a mojo, I think its going to give it some pretty stiff competition. Agreed! Quote

OIFBasser Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 I have 3 lowriders and a cara, these rods are great, made in the US, and are relatively low cost for the guys who can't afford loomis and high end st. croix's. And the bucoos look sexy. I'm already saving up for a couple. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted June 1, 2009 Super User Posted June 1, 2009 Falcon makes a very good rod. I agree, if I wasn't fishing All STars I'd fish Falcons. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted June 2, 2009 Super User Posted June 2, 2009 Hmmm, Falcon gets it. St Croix gets it. All-Star gets it. Shimano gets it. Daiwa gets it. Quantum gets it.So when the * is Loomis gonna emerge from the 17th century? It ain't about looks but performance. Quote
bigtimfish Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Falcon is also made in the USA!Yes they are!!! believe it or not a lot of rods are made in the U.S. I know of some companies that have china make some of the dept store rods(Allstar classic at academy) But Allstar makes some topnotch rods. Castaway does the same thing, only SOME are made in china. Quote

Super User 5bass Posted June 3, 2009 Super User Posted June 3, 2009 In my opinion, the Falcon Cara's are a little under priced. They are definitely the best rods you can buy in that price range. If I had an itch to switch rods, I'd probably go all Cara's. Lots of bang for your buck. Quote
okiefisher8 Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I live in Broken Arrow where falcon is based. I went into their store and because of the discount i got from working at academy I ended getting a cara for 95 bucks and an original for 45. cant wait to try em out! Quote
