i've got a 3yr old BPS spinning reel that the bale just flops open.  i am assumming it is a broken spring?  can this easily be fixed?  it is not an expensive reel....under $60.  and the closest BPS is over 4 hours away.

i don't have ANY experience repairing a reel.

suggestions???

thanks in advance.

Do you like the reel that much to put the effort into it ?

It may be time to look into another one.

Some bail springs are a breeze to put in, while some others can be a bear. If you have a good mechanical aptitude then you could possibly get it done. If you have any doubts then contact OutDoor World Rod & Reel Repair they are the BPS service center....

Also some small tackle shops do it in house.  Its usually under $10.  Sometimes they have to custom make a spring if they can't find the spring from the manufacturer.
