Skunked in DR Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Went into my local tackle store intending to buy a new Saros 2500 or a Tierra 2000. I've always owned Shimano spinning reels but thought maybe I'll try something new. Anyway, the clerk suggested I look at the Abu Soron in a 20 size. I tried it and I liked it, thing feels absolutely bomb proof. Anyway review to follow in the coming weeks. Quote
Super User Micro Posted June 19, 2009 Super User Posted June 19, 2009 Nothing strange about that. It is bomb proof. Quote
Super User Sam Posted June 20, 2009 Super User Posted June 20, 2009 send pics of what you catch on it. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted June 20, 2009 Super User Posted June 20, 2009 I have a soron 40 been using it a few months. It replaced my cardinal 804, my cardinal was the bomb, not the soron. That being said I have caught many fish 10-20# on it and handles them fine, but the stradic is a superior reel. For freshwater and saltwater boat use I like the stradic but i's a sand magnet and no one uses them on the beach down here, for that application the soron seems to be a better choice. Quote
mrlitetackle Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 i have the saros 3000.... let me know how your new soron holds up.... i havent felt one yet. Quote
