Ask here on the forum, I just bought a crucial flipping stick for $120 and someone had offered me a Kistler for $125.

yes, but IMO they just seem a little unbalanced, like the handle is too short for such a long rod. i would own a ton of them if it had a weight balancing system. Good rods though.

I've heard the C3s are REALLY heavy. I have a Kistler Magnesium flipping stick that I love. You can find a couple different models of Kistlers on ebay for around that price.

I found the Mojo line up to be very good rods for the money! With that said, they are not the best choice for flippin'. They lack the sensitivity needed to detect those subtle bites. Also, no Fuji guides to withstand braided lines common with the flippin technique. I also dislike the tip on the 7' 6" Mojo, it is too soft IMO!

mojo is a 5 year warranty,i would spend a little more and get lifetime, better in the long run.and it will perform better.

crucial is a sweet rod for the money.i use a 6'10 H extra fast and swear its scary sesitve.and i own rods worth alot more.i just think its a joy to use.you'll feel things u never have or thought possible.

i havent used the flipping stick but it has to be good.

I bought a Quantum Energy 7'6" earlier in the year and really like it. TW has it for $110.

I too bought this rod. I figued for the money its one of the better sticks out there with breaking the piggy bank. I have yet to use it. can you let me know a little bit more about your experience with the rod. How does it fair with 1/4 vs 3/4 or 1oz jigs? Sentitivity? Castability? Weight? ( It seems a tad heavy too me anyways but I have to hit the gym more too  ;)

Thanks

I have the 7 ft mh spinnerbait mojo with an a nice Japanese reel that can flip and pitch all day on the front of the boat. I can also take it to the pond in the evening hours and open cast it for a mile. If you want a relatively cheap split grip rod the mojo is the way to go.

I used to have a 7' XH Carrot Stix for my flipping stick, but wanted a bit more length so I sold it and bought the 7'9" XH on eBay for $103.  Perfect length and plenty of butt if you get a good one on.  I paired it with a '09 Quantum Energy E100HPT spooled with 50lb Sufix braid, and then balanced the rod with a few lead bullet weights.  You can take the butt cap off and slide the weights inside the blank.  I threaded the bullet weights on a piece of plastic-coated wire and then punched the wire through a piece of a rubber stopper (to keep them from moving around) and tied a knot.  Slid the whole thing inside the blank, rubber first, and left enough wire sticking out so I can remove the weights if need to.  Voila!  A perfectly balanced flipping combo, that didn't break the bank and is only an ounce and a half heavier than an unbalanced combo (which was pretty stinkin' light to begin with).

Oh, and the rod is also rated up to 3 1/2 oz, so I can swap the reel for a Abu Garcia 5600 spooled with 20lb Trilene Big Game and toss swimbaits with it all day long.  I'm all about multi-tasking.
