RobbyZ5001 Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 What scales satisfy your fish weighing needs? I have been using this spring scale from the 1980's. I think it is time to pick up an up to date one. :-/ Quote

Super User Redlinerobert Posted December 29, 2007 Super User Posted December 29, 2007 I'm with RW. I love the Boga grip. Although this little number looks really really nice. Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted December 29, 2007 Super User Posted December 29, 2007 robert, is that thing even a scale? looks like its just a lip grip. i use a cheesy rapala 15lb digital scale. its accurate to some amount. my dad and i preformed "lab tests" on it by weighing freeweights of various sizes and the results were strange....every time for each different weight it came up 4oz. shy. is that weird? i thought it was. Super User Redlinerobert Posted December 29, 2007 Super User Posted December 29, 2007 robert, is that thing even a scale? looks like its just a lip grip. Yup. It weighs just like a Boga. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted December 29, 2007 Super User Posted December 29, 2007 I would just say this on gripping scales: don't get a Rapala! Why? Because, If you are a CPR fisherman, their rotating jaw grips tear up the fish too much. IMO. I only use this one now (it was a gift!) for lakers or pike. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted December 29, 2007 Super User Posted December 29, 2007 I tried a variety of digitals and never found one that would give the same reading twice on a fish. I finally decided to bite the bullet and get a Boga. I would do it again. Quote
Fishing Doug Posted December 29, 2007 Posted December 29, 2007 I went with the XTools. Been very happy with it so far. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=89336&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults Quote
