andamtoft Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 which would i be better off getting, using it as an all around spinning reel? Quote
SDoolittle Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I have a Sedona that I got for my birthday in 1997. I fish hard. I fish often. That reel still works. Get the Shimano. Quote
infiltwb Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Shimano hands down. We have a house full of shimano stuff and I cant tell much of a difference between my wifes sahara 1500 and my sustain 1500. Both of our reels are 2 years old and all weve done is lube/clean. No major maintenence or anything. Quote
Super User Muddy Posted June 5, 2009 Super User Posted June 5, 2009 President; Great reel, takes a lickin and still keeps tickin!!!! 8-) 6735 Quote

deermaster Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 i was trying to decide between the 2, and ended up with the shimano sedona. im not an expert, but i love the sedona. its super smooth, and has an amazingly smooth drag. im really really happy with it. Quote
Super User Muddy Posted June 5, 2009 Super User Posted June 5, 2009 Enjoy your reel , in the end your the one who has to use it 8-) Quote

I just really want the free WileyX glasses that would go with them. I'm still eyeing another Citica or maybe a Curado as well. Maybe even another Fuego or Zillion if I can find a good deal and start making some money. Quote
jasonl Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 i actually have both and there basically the same. although im pretty sure the sedona is cheaper and i also think its a bit more durable. but nothing is wrong with either one. the pfleger looks awsome also Quote
Flippin & Pitchin Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 I have both a President and a Sahara and when I go to buy another spinning reel....I am no doubt grabbing another President. To me this reel is so smooth and durable. I have fished mine very hard for over 2 years now and it still works like a dream. Quote
Tim Ford Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 I'm sure they are both great reels. I can only speak on behalf of the Pflueger though. I bought one for my wife last year, and I've found myself using it when she doesn't come along. It is exceptionally smooth, and comfortable. I think it is the best spinning reel I've ever used. Quote
