Vinny Chase Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 I am upgrading my baitcaster setup within the week and need to get some of your opinions on what to get...i already am set on the rod, which is a fenwich eagle GT (ive always fished fenwick). I am looking for something that has a good breaking system and is a easy and long caster with braided line. Also just needs to be a good quality reel that i can use for years. Price range: $60-$80 how is the Shimano Coriolis? Quote

Vinny Chase Posted June 5, 2009 Author Posted June 5, 2009 i dont have any BPS in Minnesota :/ only Cabelas....i guess i could buy it online, but i would kinda want to check it out first...Any others? Quote
FishDontLikeMe1301600221 Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 x3 with muddy, either that.or add $20 to that and get the BPS pro qualifier, thats a pretty good reel Quote
bigtimfish Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 I have a couple of Daiwa Exelers and i love them. I also have a cheapo Daiwa megaforce and that is one of my go to reels. Quote
fishingflorida Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Daiwa Exceler 69-79 dollars or a Daiwa TD-PRO 99.99 but on sale for 79.00.. both based on the same reel the difference is the TD-PRO have bearings in the handle knobs.. high quality ALUM framed high bearing count reels for a good price! and its a Daiwa!!! = best breaking system on the market. check them out you will like them their high quality reels for a good price. Also dicks has Quantum E760's on sale right now for 79.00 (Im a JDM Daiwa kinda guy) but still can tell you that its a very good reel for that price. its the last years model. they are a touch heavy but cast GREAT and LAST FOREVER! and look pretty darn sweet. print you out a 10 dollar off coupon for dicks and get it for 69.99 man thats a deal. I'm a prue Daiwa JDM kinda guy but still had to go buy two of these Put them both on flipping sticks and dont care if they get beat up and have enjoyed both very much for the week ive had them and 2 times ive used them. I was even throwing a BBZ 1 shad on it on a 7.6 H Zillion rod and its casting performance is really good.. Me being a pure blood Daiwa guy and telling you another brand/reel is a great reel for the money tells you alittle about the reel... the reel isnt as comfortable nor looks as good as a zillion but the drag and casting/pitching performance is very close to the Zillion. I really believe it would be the reel for you to get you cant touch anything else for that price that will be as good as the Energy 760PT. They will probably sell out pretty fast so I would go the Dicks and pick one up soon if you are going to get one... you cant get them off Ebay for that cheap! Quote
Super User flechero Posted June 5, 2009 Super User Posted June 5, 2009 You just missed a couple in the flea market section in your price range... I would wait a few days, it seems that gently used revo's, curados and other nice reels come up for sale often enough to wait a little bit. Not to take anything from the other suggestions, I haven't used BPS reels. Quote
Super User Muddy Posted June 5, 2009 Super User Posted June 5, 2009 He has a good point there. L I have bought all my Trions here and there are a lot of reels to choose from. If you PM the seller , my experience all are truthful and can help you make a choice Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted June 5, 2009 Super User Posted June 5, 2009 there are some used citicas in the flea market for $100 Quote
Super User David P Posted June 5, 2009 Super User Posted June 5, 2009 I would definitely wait a little while. Revo S's pop up for under $80. Quote
