my palomar knot has been slipping off my braid which I'm pretty new to using. I lost a bronzeye and red eye shad because the knot slipped as cast, and this almost never happens with mono. what knot do yall use for braid?

Not what you want to hear, but I never had a problem with the Palomar with my 15# Power Pro.

I also use a palomar. With braid it is important to cinch tight and leave about a 1/4 inch tag end. If you want some extra insurance put a drop of super glue on your knot. I believe there are some knots out there that are made for braid, but a good palomar should never fail.

i use a polamer only with braid, and never had an issue....

my suggestion, make sure you really tighten the tag end of the knot with pliers......

it should hold fine.....

maybe you just had a bad knot or two......

we've all been there.

good palamor's try tying a small overhand knot in the tag end and leave it alittle longer should do the trick.  If you want to try a new one the berkley braid knot or the fish n fool work also.

When you tie the Palomar make sure you dont cinch the overhand knot before you put the hook through the loop. A buddy of mine used to do this and it will sometimes make your knot slip.

I use the Uni Knot that Power Pro recommended and I have never lost a fish/lure due to the knot since with braid.

Are you sure you are tying it right ? I've never had a palamor slip in the years I've been using it.

I agree with the others, make sure you tie the palomar right, or you can use a uni knot or cinch.  I just bought some of the SW EZ Braid and I think it's nothing like the original SW Stealth Braid.  I would say change your line, I am.
