What is the best casting flurocarbon ? Opinons please

So far I've tried using Spiderwire 100% & Yo Zuri Hybrid fluorocarbons. And I've noticed they are not the easiest in the world to cast. I was wondering if Trilene 100% was a good one to try or if you know of a good one that has worked for you let me in on it.

Using a 09 Energy PT Burner on a Kistler MAG TS 6'9" for worm fishing.

I fish with BPS fluoro and its great. That being said, I haven't tried trilene 100% fluoro. I probably will once I work my way through the BPS stuff (I bought about a dozen spools when it was on sale).

What happen to P-Line CX Premium? I thought that was all you were

using. I picked up some #15 to experiment with after being ripped-off

with some #6...Anyhow, so far, so good. It's the most manageable

(non-braid) line I have ever fished. Not pure fluoro, but maybe a better

choice.

Guys, I tried Berkley 100% (6lb) on one of my spinning reels last year and had some problems with it.  I'm going to try it this year again on a reel with a larger spool but....is it always going to jump off the spool of a spinning reel like this?? I had to take a LOT off for it to work reasonably decent.  Do you guys mainly use it on castng reels or whats the secret ???

Yep, FC has been known to do this. Let us know if the larger spool helps. That would be good to know.  If you have a shimano reel, you will have the ability to change the line lay of the spool to compensate.

I use invizx and I think its limpness helps reduce the line jumping. Perhaps putting on just a little less line could help too.

The larger spool will definetley help make floro more manageable, got this tip from KVD and based on my personal expierience he was on the money. The KVD line conditioner also helps. Regarding brand preference I am a recent convert to Trilene 100%. I was not pleased when I tried Vanish a few years back, though a Pure Fishing rep I talked to this spring said they had changed the formula and reccomended it for baitcasters FWIW.

CX isn't flouro.  And I only fish CX on spinning tackle.

I fish three lines on a regular basis.  Trilene 100% Flourocarbon, PLine CX and PLine CXX.

I got 2 spools of Sunline FC Sniper on Ebay and so far it's the easiest casting I've found. Pretty pricey if you buy it retail though.

I'm a big Berkley 100% guy no doubt about it but I think the Sunline Super Sniper FC is much more limp and easier to manage than the Berkley on a spinning reel. I wont put Berkley 100% on a spinning reel anymore, its Sunline everytime now.

Whatever fluorocarbon you choose, I suggest a good dose of KVD Line & Lure conditioner.

I haven't tried many brands, but I really like Toray Super Hard Upgrade on casting reels for jigs/worms and Sunline FC Sniper on my spinning reel.

For reaction baits I intend on using Trilene 100%. It has almost twice the stretch of Toray Super Hard which should help with faster moving baits.

CX premium is the line I recommend when anglers value a manageable line. It's the only soft and manageable line that has a coating that repels water and aids in line clarity. I want my line shiny...that means it's protected . I've always used Pline CX on my crappie rods....I can leave it on for an extended period, and it won't deteriorate like lines that are untreated. For bass line, I like Fluoro or CXX....I like coils . I will say Texas has some big fish, and lots of trees. I've read countless posts on the Texas Fishing Forum where guys literally use 15lb CX for everything. Crankbaits, worms, jigs, spinnerbaits....it has been nominated for 'best all-around' line by a lot of folks. You'll have to let us know how the 'holy' 15lb CX does.

BTW...I really felt terrible after reading about your expierience with 6lb CX. I should have mentioned it is significantly thinnner than other lines in it's class....especially Yozuri hybrid. 10lb CX has the diameter of 6lb Ultra-Soft. 6lb CX is extremely thin and I wouldn't even drop shot with it.

Burley- CX is coated with fluoro, but of course isn't a pure fluoro like RW mentioned.  For anglers wanting some clarity and invisibility in a line can enjoy the light fraction index of fluoro with the managability of copolymer (the core).  With the idea that fluoro has a light refraction index close to water....why wouldn't just the outside need to be coated?  Also, CX's fluoro coating doesn't flake off like early fluoro coated lines.  Take a look at Lake Fork Tackle's new Fluoro-Hybrid line....I saw it at bass pro and it lacked the clarity of CX, but carries a $17 price tag for a filler spool.

Something you might want to try is using KVD Line & Lure Conditioner to help with the manageability of any flourocarbon. L&L was made specifically for flouro. and braid. Spray some L&L on your flouro. prior to using so it has time to dry. I think you'll see a marked improvement in the manageability.
