Well, I certainly don't need one but I think I want one.  ...lol  If I get one, it will be the 100SHA.

OK steez owners, what is the experience like?    Provide me some motivation to sell a few rods...

to make a long story short, i sold a set of calais 100a's for a set of steez'......imo, they're that good.

and, just goes to show, prefer the 103 over the 100.

I have one and really like it, very nice reel in every way. Being the shimano guy you are I think you will eventually feel about it as I do mine (and I like Daiwa as well as Shimano). The truth of the matter is my favorite reels are my Daiwa TDZ's and Shimano MG50's. Unfortunately they don't make those any more. I don't think you will be at all disappointed but you will eventually like other reels as well, Now if you want that showpiece I have mine matched with a Loomis GLX MBR 843c. It is so nice it is sick but has a price tag to match. JMHO

I'm not a "shimano guy" really, they just have more reels that fit my list of desired features than anyone else...  I have Daiwa's, Shimano's and Abu's in service at the moment.  I just happen to have more shimano's than the others (at this moment)

I'm set on the 100 size so that's not an issue.

As said; it has tighter tolerances than any fishing reel I have ever held.  I recently bought a few for a good price and actually kept them instead of selling them.  It really is an experience.  I can just turn the handle in my house and marvel at it.  It isn't the 5.5oz weight.....lots of light reels on the market.  It's turning the handle that awakens you.  Buttery smooth and tight all at the same time; a combination I haven't felt before.
