does anyone know if the bass pro reel handles will fit 08 quantum tour pt baitcast reels?

What?  :-?

Why would you want a $9.00 Gator Grip on a Tour PT......? ;)

it seems like the rivets in my tour pt handle dont grip with the rivets from the handle ratchet.. so what happens is that i can reel counterclockwise causing the handle to come off..  i checked the quantum website but 26 bucks for a handle assembly + 7 dollar shipping is a little more than i want to spend..  although i will if i have no other choice

by the way, cant wait to try your services at the end of the season.. probably shipping 7 or 8 reels to you

First, before you go buying a new handle check to see if the spring between the drag star and black ratchet washer is there and not damaged/broken. Also check to make sure the black ratchet washer is not damaged/stripped. Those would be the first things to fail before the handle.

Did you call up Quantum to see if they can send you a new one? Like I said that is not something that should go bad, it sounds more like a manufacturing defect.

yeah i emailed them.. they said to send it in if under warranty or buy one from the website.. i dont really want to send it in, id rather pay 35 bucks to get a handle rather than send it in and have them take a long time to work on it.. not saying that they will but ive not heard the greatest about their customer service..  i just re-emailed them now asking if they can just send me a handle if i scan my receipt..

What model number Tour PT do you have?????

I almost replied that your AIR wasn't working (just from your description). But the small dimples on the black plate that holds the handles from cranking backwards and off of the shaft can and do wear out.

You should have your reels schematic in the box, call (heck I have had 3 days in a row that they don't even answer the phone) but not e-mail (I wouldn't e-mail they almost never answer), then give them the part number for the handle assy, rachet plate, even the rachet spring and, get all of them replaced....

i have 2 te1170pt and 1 te1160pt.. but the messed up one is one of the 1170pt.. actually i also have a energy e750pt and the 08 accurist burner.. and also a 08 tour spinning reel.. and after ALL that they still wont send me a $27 handle for free.. how ridiculous..

haha i have heard bad things about quantum's customer service but actually they have been very good about responding quickly to their emails...  although i still agree that their customer service policies suck..

I don't think that Daiwa or Shimano are going to send you a handle for free either

He is right..

I think that you will most likely be able to get the rachet plate and spring for free, but not a new handle assy.

According to my schematics you will need the following parts...

TE1170PT:

UX318-02 Handle Assy.

UX032-01 Handle Washer.

UX054-01 Rachet.

UX040-01 Handle Rachet Spring.

Good Luck & Tight Lines!!!!!
