reo Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 Picked up a 7' Berkley AMP spinning rod, 4-12 lb line at dicks for $30 on a whim. After a couple of outings I have to say this is a great "cheap" rod. While I will not say it is on par with my high end loomis or st. croix rods it is a remarkable $30 rod and a GREAT back up or loaner. Not sure about the 4-12 line rating, more like 6-10 though. I have 8# line on it. Quote
ChiCityBasser Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 I have the same rod in a 2 pc and its a great rod for the price. I primarily use it for a crankbait rod and have had some success on it with no problems with the reel hold down as other have mentioned in another post. For the $30 price it's one of the better bargains out there. Quote

michaelkim_9582 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I was surprised by how light it was. Probably would've gotten one if it didn't have crap guides Quote
