I recently bought a g loomis glx crankbait rod for an unbelieveably good price and am now in the process of finding a good reel to pair it with. Any suggestions?

Team Daiwa Zillion High Power. You can spend more, but you can't get better.

Daiwa Zillion Crazy Cranker or Revo Winch would be my picks for on the rod.

From personal experience, I would suggest a Quantum Energy in the Power ratio, a Curado E5, or a Daiwa Sol.  I just started fishing cranks with the Sol, even though it seems its marketed as a finesse reel, it gets the job done wonderfully

Shimano of course...Specifically CTE200GT.

That Zillion is super-sweet at 4.9:1. What is your budget?

Zillion at $270 (all can be found cheaper), Calcutta 200GT at $350.

Just picked up a C3 (5.3:1) for $70 new that I will use for cranking.

Look around, check them all out, check out the wallet & GO! ;D

I second the Chronarch BPV.  I've had that reel for a few years and love it.  Casts well and the bigger deep divers won't beat ya up so bad with the slower speed.

Only drawback I hear about the Chronach's from people is their smaller spool/less line capacity.  It hasn't gotten in the way as far as my fishing goes.

My 2 recommendations would have to be:

Shimano Curado 200E5

Abu Garcia Revo Winch
