I won a Gold 6'10" MH last week.  I received the rod & well the shipper, a company shipped it very micky mousey.  It was boxed in 3 Fed Ex triangle tubes, all taped.  Well it arrived in not so good condition.  First the first 3-5" of the tip was sticking out of the tube & the paint was chipped & the first guide the epoxy was chipped.

I totally complained to the ebay seller of their crap shipping method & how the rod arrived.  Even the UPS driver that picked up the damaged rod mentioned the driver at their end should not have accepted the condition it was shipped.

Got word just a bit ago that a new Gold Carrot Stix 6'10" MH is shipping today & packed in a PVC tube.

So I should be getting this new rod next week & will have a chance to try it out.

I'm going to hold off naming this ebay seller cuz it seems that they have done the right thing...but if the rod is not perfect or damaged I'll mention who they are.

So on a side note, how are the new Gold Carrrot Stix anyways???  Any of you have the 6'10" MH baitcast rod if so how is it for jig/worms, crankbait, topwater, swimbaits?  Is this a good all around rod or more a particular tech rod?  I noticed the first one I had that for it being MH, it didn't feel all that MH to me; so I'm thinking that it should be a good all around rod.

This would make the 5th Carrot Stix in the lineup.  I guess I like em...

I started with the 6'10'' MH-fast Gold and originally was going to be my standard rod for T-rigs(7'' worms, tubes, basic stuff)  first impression was they must have sent me a MOD-FAST action rod...feels kinda spongey...has alot of back bone but starts way lower than my 6'9''MH-fast LTX which just replaced it.  The first time out I fished a worm with it and it was ok but not stiff enough for me so I tied on a crank and BOOM!!! Know it has Daiwa Sol straddled on it for jerkbaits, shallow-medium running cranks, lipless, topwater...now I have a rod that I can feel the baits weight change ....sure beats a crankin stick

That's interesting, the lure weight range on the 6'10" MH is 3/8-3/4 oz.  To me that more like in the heavy jig/frog type of weight range.

You know the Boyd Duckett 6'9" MH I have is also a MH & it feels softer in the tip, not as stiff as I expected.  I gotta see what techs will be good w/ this rod besides being a worm rod.

Some of their ratings have thrown me for a loop.  In the LTX line, the 7'2" med, mod casting rod is 3/8-3/4oz, but the 7' med, mod casting rod is rated at 1/4-5/8oz...that's a big difference on the low end of the ratings.  

I'm not sure if the 7'2" rod loads as well with small-med cranks, as the 7' rod does, though they are labeled as having the same action and power, and this has kept me from pulling the trigger until I can figure it out.

ive got the 6'10 MH, at first i used it for 1/4 oz contact baits and i was very pleased. but as i ve tried heavier baits on it i tend to agree more with BRR that it is a slower action rod. I think it is going to become a light shallow crank and soft plastic jerk rod. It is however unreal sensitive!

I've used my friends 6'10 MH Gold stix a few times and it definately didn't feel like a medium heavy to me.  It has a very light tip on it, I was kind of nervous throwing a 3/4oz trap on it but it handled it pretty well.  I have a St. Croix med rod with the same lure ratings and it is like a broom stick compared to the carrot stix.  All in all it was a nice rod.

Im glad someone posted about these. Ive got my eye on the 6'9" MH spinning rod for shakey head applications as well as other finesse type techiniques.
