jacker Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Im lookin to start investigating some new brands of line to see if i can find somthing better thatn suffix, figured id go try the unanimous decision. Quote
Nate D Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft, its the best of both worlds! Quote
Primus Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I like the Yozuri Hybrid or Gamma when using mono, I am a recent convert to Trilene 100% for applications calling for Florocarbon. I like Spiderline Stealth when I need braid, performs well and is reasonably priced. Quote
adclem Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Yo-Zuri Hybrid or Ultra Soft. Like stated above, it is the best of both worlds. Awesome line! ;D Later, Quote
Matt 825 Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I dont care for mono much at all, but if I am using it I'll use Berkley. For Fluro I like Berkley 100%, but I just started using Seaguar InvizX on my jerkbait rods and the stuff is awesome!!!! Quote
bunkerbstr Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 My favorites: Berkley Big Game mono. Berkley Trilene 100% fluorocarbon. P-Line 100% fluorocarbon. BPS, XPS Fluorocarbon. The XPS Fluorocarbon is great line. You think because it costs less it would have a downside, it doesn't. I've been using the XPS for about 6 years now and it's great. Just recently tried the Trilene and P-Line, both are great lines too, though I can't say they are better. Beginning in 2009, the XPS line is being made using a different formula than in the past. I haven't tried the new stuff yet. Quote
fatbass Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Each has its place. I've switched to Flouro for bottom and mid depth fishing 17# Pline flouro. Topwater stuff is mono 12# Big Game. I also have 12#mono on a cranking stick. Quote
Super User grimlin Posted April 24, 2009 Super User Posted April 24, 2009 Trilene XT-mono BPS XPS- fluorocarbon Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted April 28, 2009 Super User Posted April 28, 2009 cajun red cast.i've gotten away from flouro again. Quote
CSB Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 PLine CXX, Stren Original mono PLine or Sunline fluoro Quote
mrlitetackle Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 lots will disagree, im sure......... but my mono choice is ande!! Quote
Stingray23 Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Mono-P-Line CXX, and Yo-Zuri Hybrid Flourocarbon-Seaguar Invizix Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted April 28, 2009 Super User Posted April 28, 2009 For mono I prefer Original Stren and P - Line CX Premium. For fluoro, I like the P - Line fluorocarbon or Seaguar. Quote
sal669 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 For bass fishing : - BPS flourocarbon only (cheap Torey) - mono/copoly: about 80% of times i use Tectan Premium, I also use Trilene XL, P-Line CX, Stren Original depending on water conditions and season/temperature Quote
reddragon Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 p-line cxx 12# caught many 30 inch stripers on it Quote
12Outlaw Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Berkley Big Game Green! Been there done that and can't go wrong with it. It is always easy to find, cheap, and works! Quote
Super User J Francho Posted April 29, 2009 Super User Posted April 29, 2009 Straight up nylon mono? Suffix, either Elite or Siege, as long as its pretreated with KVD L&L. Copolymer? P-Line CXX on baitcasting, treated with KVD L&L. Fluoro, that's a moving target for me lately, though I like Sunline Shooter in 10 lb. size. Early results with Berkley 100% are good, and dare say better than some other "well known" lines. I'm reverting back to using leader on braid for most of my spinning applications, and I like P-Line CFX Fluoro leader. Quote
powerman970 Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Original Stren mono. The best fluoro is whatever kind is on someone else's gear. I hate the stuff. Quote
michaelkim_9582 Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 mono-suffix seige flouro-trilene 100% Quote
flipinstick88 Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Bass Pro xps flouro, is the best I have used. Quote
