lineslinger Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Hey guys! While cleaning out fishing equipment I found an OLD Shakespeare Ultralight Wonderod. It's a two piece and only about 49" long. Has "Genuine Carboloy Guides on it and for it's age is in pretty good condition. Guess this was when the used quality cork! Has the sliding band type reel attachment. Anyway, my question is, would this be a collectible rod or would it just be a "user?" I've used it extensively in the past, but put it up long ago. It's one of the best ultralight rods I've every used and just to give you an idea of its durability, I caught an 8 lb. striper on it using a rooster tail and had no trouble landing the fish on 6 lb. monofilament! That's a testimony to the flex of the rod, certainly not to any of my ability! Any comments/opinions appreciated. Quote
Super User .RM. Posted April 25, 2009 Super User Posted April 25, 2009 You might try doing a google search for that rod, or contact.. Earl's Antique Fishing Tackle http://fishingcollectables.com/ And query him for some info on the rod, he has a lot of Wonderod's listed... Good Luck & Tight Lines!!! Quote
