hey all,

once again im looking at getting 2 kistler magnesium rods !!!

first i had picked out 2 falcon rods: 6'8" MH with a moderate fast action, and a 6'7" MH extra fast action...

the 6'8" was gonna be used for spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, buzzbaits, bassmagic swimbaits..

the 6'7" was gonna be used for topwater, weightless applications like flukes, wacky rigs, senkos...

So what i want to do is find 2 kistler magnesiums rods that will do these things well

MgTWJBM68 Topwater-Jerkbait 6'8" mod-fast Medium 8 1/8 - 3/4 oz 8 - 15 lb Avail.

MgSWMH70 Senko Worm 7' fast Med-Hvy 9 " 1/8 - 5/8 oz 12 - 20 lb

MgAJSBSMH66 *Alton Jones Spinnerbait Special 6'6" fast Med-Hvy 8 1/4 - 3/4 oz 10 - 17 lb

11 of the 15 Kistler rods that I currently own are from the Magnesium line...For the $ I think it would be difficult to find more rod anyplace else. I've had alot of them!

I have my first rod from the Argon Series on order (spinnerbait rod) and am excited about getting it. They are a navy (dark) blue so I already have a BPS Johnny Morris Elite Series (Blue) baitcaster ready to mount on my new rod when it arrives.

I agree with Dave here awesome rods and backed by a great company try the 6'9 all purpose special it is the only true all-purpose bass rod I have found since the days of the old All Stars. :

My Mg69APC/Revo STX is the combo I fish the most with simply because I think it excels in the applications I like to throw most frequently

Spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, chatterbaits, lipless crankbaits and I just recently have started throwing more of the ~5 in paddletail swimbaits with this rod

When I take a roadtrip and can only bring a limited amt of tackle, this rod ALWAYS goes with me.  And although the applications I listed above are the once I use most frequently, I have also fished senkos, ~1/4 oz T-rigs/jigs just fine.

what about popr's, sammys, just regular topwater stuff like that!!!!

I guess 2 of these rods would be just fine, how light are they,,,, can you compare them to another rod.. what about sensitivity??

I have a 7'H Magnum Worm rod that is a great rod. It's very light and works great with my pflueger patriarch. Haven't had much of a chance to test it's sensitivity but as soon as the 10'' worm bite is on here in KY I will give her a go

well kistler recommended the Argon AFJ71 rod, i think its a heavy with a fast tip, and gonna use it for spinnerbaits, chatters, buzz's, bassmajics....

and then they said for me to get the Mg senko rod for my weightless stuff ( senko's, flukes, wacky rigs, and topwater stuff)

so how about these !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get the crankbait series, I used to have one and if it weren 't by the lousy Batson reel seat it had I wouldn 't have sold it, the blank is fantastic for topwater cranks and crankbaits.

I think that AFJ71 might be a little stiff for what i want to use it for,  maybe the Mg all purpose would be better, man i dont know I just want a rod to throw spinners, buzz's, chatters and soft bass majics

iFisch,

I have all the different Kistler rods that have been mentioned here. In my opinion the MgAPSMH69 6'9" MH would be the perfect rod for the applications you need the rod for. I have 2 of these rods and have used them for everything from throwing light texas rigged plastics to throwing spinner/buzz baits.

You will love this rod!!!!

Bassmafia,

I too have the Argon 6'11" spinnerbait rod on order and am very anxiously waiting the big brown trucks arrival. I have the Magnesium Senko rod. I bought it early this year and have only used it a couple times (its crankbait season around here this time of the year) so far this year. Once the summer (slow finesse) pattern hits I'm sure it will get used alot.

Enjoy your Kistlers!! I hope you don't plan on stopping at just 2...It's a sickness and you've been bitten!!!

I'm going to get 2x ML. I don't like anything above "M" power rods". The lakes I fished are stocked with some nice size perch, bass, and crappie. No 10lbers - bass, but some nice size lunkers in there.

I like light tackle.  8-)
