Barnes731 Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Anyone have this real? I was thinking about getting the combo that bass pro has for 110 right now where its paired with the bass pro bionic blade rod. I am just going to use this combo with top waters with the 7.1 to 1 geàr ratio. The twitching bar seems nice. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted April 20, 2009 Super User Posted April 20, 2009 I had one for about 3 days. I just was never really happy with it. Took it back and picked up a BPS PQ on sale. Much, much happier with that. The reviews on the Daiwa weren't that spectacular either. A bunch of them had worm gears breaking on them. Not exactly a nice thing to find out about down the road. SDoolittle Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 I had one and didn't care for it. I gave it to a friend of mine who was in need of a reel. Quote
Stasher1 Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 I had one for a very short time. I think I might've used it a half-dozen times before getting rid of it. Peformance was far from impressive and the drag required readjustment after every cast. I think there are better things to spend $60 on. The rod might not be bad, but I don't know for sure. My brother-in-law has been using one for a while now and seems to like it, but I've never tried it. Quote
SDoolittle Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Anybody try to use that stupid twitchin' bar? Quote
ChiCityBasser Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 I had one and actually just sold it thru the flea market here. The reel worked pretty good and I actually did use the twitchin bar to catch a couple fish while sight fishing. I only used it for jigs and shakey head worms and it worked pretty well for me. Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted April 20, 2009 Super User Posted April 20, 2009 I wanted one when they first came out, after getting my hands on it I wasn't greatly impressed with it. I have smaller hands and had to reposition to use the twitchin bar. I personally felt it was kinda clunky as well. Quote
Barnes731 Posted April 20, 2009 Author Posted April 20, 2009 Thanks guys. Yeah a lot of the reviews were bad. They said the twitching bar breaks a lot. I think I'm just going to spend the extra money and get a revo. The twiching bar just had me very interested. Quote
FishingPirate Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Y'all are just haters. Ive had one for about two years and it beats the heck out my other $60 reels. Ill admit, its not one of my big bad reels I always use but it makes a good'un for keeping an extra bait tied on for if you break one off and dont have an opportunity to retie. Quote
Stasher1 Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 I've owned my share of cheap reels, and my old $35 Pinnacle Platinum Plus was smoother and more trouble free than my Megaforce. Quote

Good Idea, The revo S is a great starting reel, it was my friends first high quality baitcaster and he loves it. Simple and efficient. there was one on the flea market for 90 tyd or b/o. I just got an STX and can't wait to try it out. Heres the link to that revo, i think its still up for sale http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1239820790 Quote
bigtimfish Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Wow, am i the only person who like this reel? i have never had a single complaint about mine. i also have never had a single problem either. the cast control works great. i have it on a 7 ft all star 12 lb suffix seige and it will cast a tx rigged weightless 5" senko extremely well. maybe its the blakemores reel magic i put on the line while spooling. i dont know, but i would recommend this reel to anyone. i dont really use the twitchin bar like i thought i would. but its still pretty cool. I didn't have one problem with mine and only sold it cause I added some other reels and thought it would be a way for someone to pick up a half decent rod and reel from the board cheap. I didn't have any problems with the twitchin bar either and caught a couple of LM using the bar and a shakey head. It was a great reel with not one problem. Quote
