mjc Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 my rod snapped between the eyes about 1/3 down from the tip. It's a clean break.Has anyone ever had one fixed or is it junk? Warranty is expired and is my favorite rod. thanks. Quote
Uncle Leo Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 It will never be the same rod if you fix it with that much missing. Quote
Super User .RM. Posted April 16, 2009 Super User Posted April 16, 2009 .02¢ from a rod builder.... A break that far into the tip action and repaired would change the action to extra, extra, fast tip plus make the rod super tip heavy. Just taking a tiptop and adding it to the broken spot would change the tip action to extra fast. The power (backbone) of the rod would change to heavy..... Time to get another... Good Luck & Tight Lines!!! Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted April 17, 2009 Super User Posted April 17, 2009 Welcome to the club, I broke my bps finesse caster last week, broke about 12" off..my fault. The sad part, it was new, never landed a fish with it.. Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Not worth the hassle man, just replace it! Quote

ChiCityBasser Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 As long as you have the receipt they will replace it and of course the remaining piece of the rod. I had a similar experience with Cabelas rod and it was replaced no questions asked. Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted April 17, 2009 Super User Posted April 17, 2009 They won't replace rods bought online, atleast the one in Cincinnati wouldn't Quote
old bassman Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 They replaced one for me but I had the receipt and it was within 1 year. After that I do not know. Show up with the rod they do not need the bad press or a dissatisfied customer. Their customer service as BPS is excellent. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted April 20, 2009 Super User Posted April 20, 2009 Well, I'll start with a disclaimer: Make all purchases with a BPS VISA. I have never had a problem, receipt or not, "Could you look it up for me?" ;D ;D Quote
