Super User Jimzee Posted April 14, 2009 Super User Posted April 14, 2009 I got to meet Booten last year through BR and Pitchinkid. His sense of humor was greatly appreciated on board my boat from the very first outing, not to mention he is a pretty d**n good stick too. I enjoyed his company on the Kentucky Lake trip, especially the gut busting discussions we had at the camp. Dude, you do impersonations like no other! He surprised me with this rod on the trip...Custom 6'6" MH spiral wrapped to the right with micro guides and EVA foam handle with burled cork butt. It makes for one sick jerkbait rod which I didn't have in my arsenal. I would like to make a public thank you to Brian for this awesome rod. I had to go with the custom TD-Z for the custom rod, match made in heaven. Sorry for all the pics, I just really like the rod. Thanks Brian!! Quote
FordNFishinLover Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Pretty rod! Now how does she fish?? Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted April 14, 2009 Author Super User Posted April 14, 2009 Pretty rod! Now how does she fish?? Perfect tip down presentation rod. Don't have to deal with smacking the water like I do with longer rods. Quote
FordNFishinLover Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Thats awesome, i know whatchya mean. Constantly hitting the water gets annoying after a bit haha. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted April 15, 2009 Super User Posted April 15, 2009 That's a sick (sick =Good) lookin rod..!!!!! reel ain't bad either.. 8-) Quote

Big Tom Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 That is a beautiful setup. There are some insanely talented guys on this forum. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted April 15, 2009 Super User Posted April 15, 2009 You should see this thing in person. Unreal The guides are so small, it looks like a blank with a reel seat attached. Very stealthy. That is a freakin' sick rod. I had the pleasure of watching Jimzee throw it for the first time. He reminded me of a little girl at a Jonas Brothers concert. ;D Quote
Super User burleytog Posted April 15, 2009 Super User Posted April 15, 2009 He reminded me of a little girl at a Jonas Brothers concert. ;D Been to a lot of Jonas Bros. concerts, have ya? :-? Quote

You invited me, figured it would be rude to turn you down. Besides, I was going to type "Hanson" but thought no one would know who I meant Quote
Super User burleytog Posted April 15, 2009 Super User Posted April 15, 2009 Hanson would have been a better choice. If they don't know mmm bop, they can go to hell. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted April 15, 2009 Super User Posted April 15, 2009 If they don't know mmm bop, they can go to hell. If I had a nickle for every time I've said that.... Quote
The_Natural Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Nice rod, but that reel sucks. You need to put it in the flea market for around $175 Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted April 15, 2009 Author Super User Posted April 15, 2009 You need to put it in the flea market for around $175 When are we gonna see those black beauties of yours? Quote
I Love BassResource Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Wow I'm not sure how I missed this, but thanks for the kind words! Its truely a privelege to be able to fish with guys like we have here. Jimzee is a great individual, he opened his house to a group of fisherman last year, and refused to accept any compensation. I'm by no means an expert builder, but if I can give my friends the benefits of my services, I'm more than happy to do so. I hope you guys get great use out of those rods, I really enjoyed making them! Quote
Super User Alpster Posted April 16, 2009 Super User Posted April 16, 2009 The rod looks great! Glad to see those customs getting some action. Ronnie Quote

Every jig fish I caught in Kentucky was on your custom. Thanks again buddy!! Quote
I Love BassResource Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 Lol, I dunno... my volume of local orders are becoming a bit time consuming to fill, although I do enjoy it. Quote

I'll take some pics when I'm done painting. I'm working on some red ones now. I'm trying to pick up one or two more td-z's, but they are getting scarce. Quote
