When not to use Flourocarbon?

I currently use fluoro on my flippin rigs and spinnerbait rigs. I am wondering if you wuold not use fluoro on any of these baits?

Rat-l-traps? Jerk baits? Texas rig worms? Carolina rigs? Leaders? Frogs? Wacky riggin?

Don't use it for topwater.

I would not use Fluorocarbon for jerk baits or frogs.  I don't like the way it pulls the nose down and the way it changes the presentation of the bait.

I know others like to use it, but I don't.

i have tried flouro and liked seguar invizx the best.the problem is i see no advantage or increase in numbers of fish over cajun red cast which handles way better and costs far less.yes it is more sensitive than mono but flouro is far more brittle and one good backlash wrecks it.

Frogs I can understand.... but jerkbaits? Tim Horton would disagree.

The only time I'm not using flourocarbon is at night. Hopefully one of these days someone will infuse a lightning bug's *** into the flouro matrix.

Like others have said frogs, but most importantly do not use Fluorocarbon if you do not want to re-tie often! You need to constantly retie, Note after catching a fish definately because bass teeth can really shred Fluoro.

Flourocarbon is notable for it's resistance to abrasion.

Never heard anyone complain about fluorocarbon having abrasion problems and having to re tie all the time.  I always heard that is was very abrasion resistant.

    I also use flourocarbon on my flipping outfit, but many people only use braided line.  I guess it is just personal preference.  I think that most people would agree with me that you shouldn't use flourocarbon for topwaters.

I dont like it for topwaters, because it sinks like the titanic.  Other thatn that, I like it alot.  I have noticed, however, that abbrasion has been a problem.  Ive really only used vanish, so i cant speak of the other brands.

I have had to retie a lot less since I started using fluoro. It's definitely more abrasion resistant than mono.

Any time I'm on the water, hate the stuff; while it's touted as abrasion resistance one tiny nick & its history.

When the inconsistency in product quality, memory and ill-handling characteristics (irrespective of various sprays and line lotions) tick you off to the point where you go back to the quality monofilaments you've used for 10-20 years to catch fish successfully...

That said, I still use each of the "Big Three" (fluoro, mono, braid) for specific applications.
