Schaefer Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 Well, im trying to make a list of some baits for my GF to get me for x-mas, but I cant seem to zero it down to what I need/want. :-/ So, im in need of some suggestions:P. What are some baits you guys use that are a MUST have in your tackle box?? :-? OR if you have some good suggestions for someone who mostly fishes from shore. Thx, Schaefer Quote
RobbyZ5001 Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 LC topwater- Sammy or G-Splash RatLtrap Rapala cranks- Dt-3-Dt 10 Jigs Jig Trailers (Twin tails, hula grubs) Quote
Rob G. Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 Unless your g/f is an avid fisherperson herself, do not let her buy you lures unless you show her explicitly what you want. You will end up with some lures that either look really pretty, or the dumbo working at the sporting goods store talked her into. You pretty much are gonna have to take her by the hand and show her. No offense intended, but this is usually how it works. Quote
Schaefer Posted December 10, 2007 Author Posted December 10, 2007 I have alot of trust in her , and I know if she is indoubt she well ask me. One question, can you fish rat-l-traps from shore without getting snagged 24/7? Quote
rondef Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 I have been using rat-l-traps for the last month without too many problems. I have lost 2 of them but that come with the territory where I fish when you are trying to catch the lunkers. Manns -1 Crankbaits Rapala SSR7 (bluegill) Swim Senkos Shad X-Rap Quote

mpharris1989 Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 haha i asked my girlfriend to get me a "rapala dt-4 'dives to 4 feet' crankbait in fire tiger color" for a cheap stocking gift and she just laughed since i made it sound so technical..... ...she ended up going to bass pro, with that memorized, and told the worker, and she said he gave her the wierdest look, since she said it like she actually knew what she was doing Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted December 10, 2007 Super User Posted December 10, 2007 I only asked for one bait. She got me this one. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted December 10, 2007 Super User Posted December 10, 2007 I just asked for gift cards, that way I can make sure I get the things I wanted. It makes it easier for me and the gift giver. Quote
Mattlures Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 I agree with Hookemdown. Bizz Mickey sure makes a pretty bait! Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted December 10, 2007 Super User Posted December 10, 2007 he sure does matt, i've got an addiction to his hardbaits that just won't stop. Quote
moby bass Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 Just a friendly note:It's CHRISTmas Actually, the X is used because it stands for the Greek letter Chi ([ch967] = ch) which is the first letter in Christos meaning Christ. Many Christian symbols use the X or a modified version of it. Now back to the original thread Quote
Super User FishTank Posted December 10, 2007 Super User Posted December 10, 2007 I have been wanting one of those Lucky Craft Pointers with real fish skin. Hopefully, Santa (wife) will deliver . Ho, Ho, Ho. Quote
Captain Chaos II Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 My wife is gettin me some Mattlures baby bass lures.....I'm ordering them. Quote
Super User Tin Posted December 10, 2007 Super User Posted December 10, 2007 I just asked for gift cards, that way I can make sure I get the things I wanted. It makes it easier for me and the gift giver. Yup, the way to go. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 I was having the same trouble narrowing it down for a list, but then figured my wife, mom, dad, sisters, and brother would mess it up by getting the wrong bait anyway, so I just asked for Gander Mountain Gift Cards. I got a pile of 'em coming to satisfy the ol bait monkey. Quote

Schaefer Posted December 10, 2007 Author Posted December 10, 2007 I think I might go for: Lucky Craft Sammy (if the shop around here has them) Some Rat-l-traps (or versions of it) Spinnerbaits (booyah/strikeking) Shallow diving cranks (been looking at the shallow bomber cranks) Ill probably add some to the list and let her decide the limit . Sounds good to me. If your looking for shallow running cranks, Mann's 1 minus series is hard to beat. Quote
