midnighthrasher Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 I am fishing a crucial crank bait rod with a curado e on it. I am having difficulty choosing a line for it. I have searched the forum here and the bps outdoor forums. I cant make up my mind between mono or fluorocarbon. Mono- more stretch, higher visibility Fluoro- runs cranks deeper, low visibility I am in between berkley big game for mono and seaguar invisx or berkley 100% fluo for fluorocarbon. How does 12# sound? I fish a clear weedy lake. Thanks Quote
BlakeMolone Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 If its clear and weedy from what I hear use Fluro. It will be easier to pull it through the weeds with less stretch and fish cant see it as easy. Quote
The Next KVD Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 I would drop down to 10lb fluoro, but if you are in really heavy weeds, go ahead and use the 12lb. I use 10lb P-line 100% fluoro for both and haven't broke it yet, even when ripping cranks through the grass. Quote
rippin_lips Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 I just spooled my rod for jerkbaits with 12# yo zuri hybrid. It is my first experience with it, but after hearing all the good things about it on this site I decided to give it a shot. Too bad I haven't had a chance to use it yet. Quote
