BassFishingMachine Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 Largemouth Bass: Small peice of bread, tiny tiny grub under a inch after I harassed him with it enough, also Ive caught a bass that hit a rapala that was spinning on the top after fail hooking the line. Bluegill: First let me say I truly believe I can catch these things with anything. Hook ( no bait, just a hook), peice of rubber on a hook, I was using butter worms once for bluegills and after catching about 30 I decided to stop wasting the butter worms and I found a yellow peice of weed (so it resembled the butter worm) and I wrapped it around the hook and was nailing em with it. Carp: Fail hooked many many times with rapalas/ crankbaits etc, Ive had them almost spool me once or twice where I had to just let them snap it. Catfish: Black/blue jig with a Yum Black/blue trailer sprayed with Yum Crawfish scent, Spinnerbait, Rapala, Senko, split shot (yes a split shot, one fish hit the worm and got the hook, other ate the split shot and got caught up in the line, caught 2 at a time, was great) Quote
Super User Tin Posted December 14, 2007 Super User Posted December 14, 2007 Koi: Snagged with spinnerbait Carp: Snagged with trap 40+ lbs Snapping Turtle (Shell was A LOT bigger than a garbage can lid): Snagged in hand with jig Weirdest: Pan fishing with my little brother with half of a 3 inch senko, caught a bluegill, while reeling it in a 3 pound largemouth ate it and somehow got hook. Got it in and out of the lilly pads with a 4'6" UL Fenwick and 4 pound test. Quote

luckyinkentucky Posted December 15, 2007 Posted December 15, 2007 I've caught at least 15 - 3" catfish and 1st year largemouth on a bare hook after throwing in a 20 lb. bag of "Ole Roy". We were testing a strip pit pond, and I thought I'd have a little fun while I was waiting. Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted December 15, 2007 Super User Posted December 15, 2007 countless bluegills and golden shiners on canned corn (makes excellent bait...a whole can will last you many outings) Ive also caught unbelevable amounts of bluegills and golden shiner on bread and this homemade dough i made. and i catch golden shiners and bluegills on simple chuncks of white rubber from torn up plastics (they think its bread, so they just demolish it) Quote
FivePoundBluegill Posted December 16, 2007 Author Posted December 16, 2007 OMG i forgot what was probably one of the strangest ones of them all. I caught a big carp that was over 10 pounds on a 4 inch finess worm. LOL. Not as funny as haveing one attack a jerk bait though Quote
Cory20 Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 Over the summer I was fishing a Super Spook, the 5" one with three trebles, and was slamming bass. Too bad all of the bass were smaller than the bait itself. Quote
