What do you use to cut braid?  I used to just use a sharp knife but that was not very effective.  I have heard of special braid scisors working well.  I also have been looking at a pair of pliers that has a cutter that claims to cut any type of line?  If anyone has experience with anything like that I would love some input.

Thanks.

I bought several pairs of Rapala scissors.  They were like $5 a pair.  They have stainless blades and the edges are serated.  They'll cut braid cleanly with no fraying.

I bought the BPS Braid Scissors, they work great

I forget what they are called, but the brand of pliers That are BRIGHT green.

You can use the pliers, and for the cutters it works FANTASTIC, clean cut on all braids. Ive used em for 12 lb-65lb braid and it works fine as frog hair!

You can buy "academy" scissors at walgreen for about $2.50, they work fine.

I use a cigarette or bic lighter, works even better. You don't really want a clean cut, when the line is singed it forms a little nib on the end and will prevent a pull thru.  I use same technique for mono.

i've gone through two pairs of gerber braid scissors...they're sharp at first but get dull very, very quickly...i don't recommend them. the cutters on the browning fishing pliers cut braid very cleanly but are not very convenient to use. i'm currently using a pair of bass pro shops braid scissors and, so far, they've been fine. if you go with scissors, definitely get the ones that are serrated. i plan to pick up the berkley TEC hotwire line cutter that i'll also be able to use to mend my plastic baits.

I read about this in a bass master magazine and it works great... You take the little metal piece from the top of  a dental floss container and it works like a charm. very inexpensive and highly effective. you can either leave it on the container or take it off and super glue it to the bottom of the end of your rod for convenience

x2.  My brother bought some for me as part of my xmas present.  They work great, although I haven't used them for an extended period of time so I can't tell you how durable they are.

Got some kind of contraption from BPS called line zapper or something like that and it really works great.  In the field it might be a little testy and time consuming, but use it prior to fishing to re-rig everything and it works great.  It's similar to the Berkley, but I think it's been around longer.  You'll have to look in the salt water section to find it.  Cuts all kinds of lines and leaves a little ball on the end.  Uses one AA battery.

I use a pair of Sears Craftsman diagonal cutters for about a couple of years it has a certain part on it that cuts braid instantly, since my buddy dropped my other one in the lake  >:).

Some dude on T.V. said this is the bomb for cutting braid, anyone try it yet?
