Rand Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 I have a Steez 100HA and Steez 7' MH that I am going to put Yo Zuri hybrid on. Plan to use it for plastics but not positive. Anyways was planning on 12lb hybrid but buddy picked me up spool of 15lb. Is that too heavy? Also willing to entertain other applications. FIRE AWAY Rand Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 25, 2009 Super User Posted March 25, 2009 I have been experimenting with #15 on two rigs used for heavier baits and lures. Treat the Hybrid with KVD Line & Lure Conditioner and you're good to go. Specifically, I have #15 on my jig rod and another I use for medium weight swimbaits (Mattlures Baby Bass). After a few casts the line performs flawlessly with very little memory or coil. The only drawback is breaking strength- you could pull your boat with this line! 8-) Quote
Rand Posted March 25, 2009 Author Posted March 25, 2009 Thanks roadwarrior. I knew I could count on you. Being a fellow Hybrid fan that you are. Quote
Super User Tin Posted March 25, 2009 Super User Posted March 25, 2009 If you have the money to buy a Steez setup, you can afford Sunline... ;D Quote
Captain Chaos II Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 I have 12 YZ Ultrasoft on my Steez ... man, I love that reel. Don't have much gnarly cover around my parts. I suppose the reel can handle 15lb ... that set up would be the one for jigs. I think the one hinderance is if you want to go to a lightweight bait but the reel is so good, probably could handle that also. Quote
tritz18 Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 I recently got Yo Zuri for my new cranking setup and I love it, looking to get it for soft plastics too. It is easy to cast and great knot strength Quote
fathom Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 the steez 100 handles 15# yozuri extremely well. in my hands, the 15# yozuri balances a h action better than a mh action. that said, it'll work well on a mh and i wouldn't loose much sleep over the difference. Quote
Rand Posted March 26, 2009 Author Posted March 26, 2009 Thanks alot fellas. Lots of good responses. Think I will go with 10lb or 12lb. Quote
